On Jan. 7, Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc. issued a voluntary recall of 72 Dole-branded and private label packaged salads that were processed at its Springfield, Ohio, and Soledad, California, production facilities.
The recalled salads all contain iceberg lettuce that could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the company said.
“Consumers who still have any of these products in their refrigerators are urged not to consume the product and to discard it immediately,” Dole said in the recall.
The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems.
The recall was issued after equipment used to harvest the iceberg lettuce was tested by Dole and found to contain Listeria monocytogenes.
This recall comes after Dole Fresh Vegetables recalled all of its Dole-branded and private label salads processed at two of its facilities and distributed across 23 states in December due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Yuck!! Please add me in the settlement.
Before the recall, I had two bags of the Kroger Brand lettuce and had eaten all of one bag and 3/4 of the second when I became very ill with stomach problems that would not go away. I thought I had contracted COVID although I had been vaccinated and received my booster. Kroger called me to let me know I had purchased these salads and should get rid of them. They knew I had them because of my loyalty card. My husband threw what was left of the one bag away. I had been sick for 5 days. When I looked up the symptoms of Listeria, I had a classic case.
