Several wintergreen essential oil products have been recalled due to concerns that children could be injured.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has instituted recalls on seven different kinds of wintergreen essential oil products.

According to the CPSC, these oils were not packaged properly. The commission explains that the products contain methyl salicylate, which must be packaged in child resistant packaging, per the requirements of the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. Reportedly, these seven essential oils were not packaged appropriately.

The recalls were implemented between May 14 and June 11. Consumers are advised to immediately store the products out of reach of children, because if a child does swallow the products, the could be at risk for poisoning. Happily, no incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with these products.

The recalls offer a range of remedies, including refunds, replacement caps for the products that better protect children, or a replacement of the product itself.

Aromatics International Wintergreen Oil Recall

The Aromatics International recall was implement on May 14, 2020, and affects around 550 units. The products are sold online at Aromatics from March 2018 to July 2019 for between $9 and $66. The recall affects the wintergreen essential oil products sold in 5 mL, 15 mL, 30 mL, and 100 mL packaging. They are packaged in glass amber bottles with a black continuous thread cap.

Consumers are invited to contact Aromatics International. The company will send customers a free replacement child-resistant cap for the product. The recall number is 20-742.

Organic Pure Oil Wintergreen Oil Recall

The Organic Pure Oil recall was also implemented on May 14, 2020. Around 40 units of the 4 fl oz (118 mL) product are affected. They were packaged in amber glass bottles with a black dropper cap. The products were sold on Amazon between April 2018 and January 2020 for between $29 and $32.

Consumers can contact Organic Pure Oil for a full refund of their purchase. Organic Pure Oil can be reached at 657-600-8100 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday. Jade Bloom Wintergreen Essential Oil , Birch Sweet Essential Oil Recall

The Jade Bloom Wintergreen Essential Oil recall was implemented on May 14, 2020 and affects around 6,400 units. Consumers can contact Jade Bloom for a full refund of their purchase or for a store credit.

The recall involves the 1 mL, 10 mL, 60 mL and 120 mL amber glass bottles of Jade Bloom Wintergreen Essential Oil as well as the 10 mL green glass bottles of Birch Sweet Essential Oil with black caps

Viva Doria Wintergreen Oil Recall

The CPSC has recalled wintergreen essential oil products for consumer safety.On May 21, 2020, the CPSC recalled around 520 units of Viva Doria wintergreen essential oil.

Consumers who purchased the 30 mL product are eligible for a full refund, which they can receive by contacting Via Doria. The company will also provide information for properly disposing of the original, recalled product.

Emori Wintergreen 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade Oil Recall

The Emori Wintergreen oil was recalled on June 4, 2020. The recall affects around 900 units, sold online at EmoriBeauty.com and Amazon.com between September 2017 and March 2020 for around $7.

Consumers can contact Tim Trading for a full refund or a replacement with a similar product. They can be reached by email at emoribeauty@gmail.com or online at www.emoribeauty.com. The recall number for the product is 20-749.

Simply Earth Wintergreen Oil

The 15 mL Simply Earth Wintergreen Essential Oil product is affected by this recall, which was implemented on June 4, 2020. Around 2,935 units are being recalled, and affected consumers are being compensated with a replacement cap that is child resistant.

The products were sold from September 2016 to September 2019, and were sold online at SimplyEarth.com and at the Simply Earth store in Glendale, Wisconsin.

Davina Wintergreen Oil and Davina Kneads Relief Sore Muscle Blend

The Davina recall affects two products — the Davina Wintergreen Essential Oil and Davina Kneads Relief Sore Muscle Blend products. They were sold in bottles with black continuous thread closures.

The CPSC explains that the wintergreen essential oil recall affects the 10 mL size while the recall affects the 2 mL, 5 mL and 10 mL sizes of the blend. The blend was sold alone as well as in kits. Around 300 units in total are affected by the recall.
