A proposed settlement has been reached in the Wells Fargo inspection fee class action lawsuit, resolving claims that Wells Fargo & Co. and Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. improperly assessed property inspections when a mortgage borrower allegedly fell behind on payments by 45 days or more and charged borrowers for that inspection.
Furthermore, the plaintiffs of the Wells Fargo class action lawsuit claim subsequent inspections of the mortgage property were also allegedly ordered every 25 to 35 days for as long as the borrower remained delinquent in payments.
Finally, the Wells Fargo inspection fee class action lawsuit claims the bank concealed these fees from by consumers by labeling them as “Other Charges” on mortgage statements.
The plaintiffs bring several claims against Wells Fargo in this inspection fee class action lawsuit, including violations of California’s Unfair Competition Law and violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations by improperly and illegally assessing and charging property inspection fees.
Wells Fargo denies all liability and wrongdoing in this inspection fee class action lawsuit, but has agreed to settle the case in order to avoid the uncertainty of further litigation and increasing court costs.
Per the terms of the Wells Fargo inspection fee class action settlement, Wells Fargo will pay $27,750,000 to establish a settlement fee to compensate eligible Class Members for damages allegedly incurred by Wells Fargo’s actions.

Anyone heard anything useful?
The docket is showing that attorneys’ fees are still being determined. It’s possible that payment won’t take place until the judge makes a final decision.
Looks like pleadings regarding attorneys’ fees and expenses are due to the judge by 1/17/18. It is not known how quickly the judge will review and rule after the motions are submitted. We are following the case and will keep viewers updated.
Any news?
Top Class…I know you are only for informational purposes, so just bear with me…
This is freaking ridiculous. It is unreal that it is 2018 and we have received NOTHING! Even if it is $5.00 it’s knowing WF is being held responsible!
Pissed off Lady!
what about pain and suffering? The some felt and etc.
Has anyone received a check??
Happy New Year!
No. I have not received a check.
Happy New Year!! Thanks
Will we get back at least what we where charged illegally?
The settlement website FAQs have details on the Plan of Allocation: http://www.wellsfargopropertyinspectionsettlement.com/faq
Does a cow lead a farmer? I think not.
Just take the $1 and change and donate it to a cause.
They can keep that $1 to $12 what happened to the $10,000 that’s on the postcard
We should receive money that they took for fees
I want to thank Top Class Actions for keeping me updated on this lawsuit. I appreciate the information…
I, too, thank Top Class Actions for their professionalism and responsiveness.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! :)
if we only get 1.00- 5.00 the lawyers are the only winners
Top Class….please explain why this is still dragging out.
Please understand that Top Class Actions has absolutely no control over how quickly claims are paid. There have not been any recent updates to the docket for this case. We recommend contacting either the settlement administrator or class counsel to discuss your concerns with delays in payment.
I called today and was told the payouts will be SOMETIME in 2018.
who did you call?
SCOTT+SCOTT, ATTORNEYS AT LAW, LLP
REESE, LLP
Do you think checks will get before X-Mas
I hope so, and I hope it’s larger than $5.00.
looks to me like thats all we will get LOL
That’s horrible
They will be between $5.00 and $12.00
It all depends on the class your on in.
This is on their website. IT IS HEREBY ORDERED the Plan of Allocation is modified as follows:
(1) Post-Sale Class Members who submitted Proofs of Claim with no or
inadequate documentary evidence to support the claimed payment of
property inspection charges shall receive a flat distribution of $5.00.
(2) All Active and Paid-in-Full Class Members shall receive a minimum
distribution amount of $1.00.
IT IS SO ORDERED.
Dated this 6th day of September, 2016.
Nikki, I went to the WF website and did not find the information you listed. Would you please an address that lists your Plan of Allocation. I must have a bad address and am a fool not getting an attorney knowing how much the attorneys would siphon off the settlement amount. They knew many of us were clueless about the legal process had no money to retain an attorney and now I suspect we suffer.
It’s under court documents and it’s listed last under “Order approving Motion to Modify the Plan of Allocation”
I would question that information. The amount given maybe for damages but they have to give back the money you were told you had to pay and paid. Just paying a dollar or two does not make the claimants whole. It does not make sense to me. Wells Fargo has to return your money because they obtained it illegally so says the court decision. So I am expecting my money back plus that one to twelve dollars.
