A proposed settlement has been reached in the Wells Fargo inspection fee class action lawsuit, resolving claims that Wells Fargo & Co. and Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. improperly assessed property inspections when a mortgage borrower allegedly fell behind on payments by 45 days or more and charged borrowers for that inspection.

Furthermore, the plaintiffs of the Wells Fargo class action lawsuit claim subsequent inspections of the mortgage property were also allegedly ordered every 25 to 35 days for as long as the borrower remained delinquent in payments.

Finally, the Wells Fargo inspection fee class action lawsuit claims the bank concealed these fees from by consumers by labeling them as “Other Charges” on mortgage statements.

The plaintiffs bring several claims against Wells Fargo in this inspection fee class action lawsuit, including violations of California’s Unfair Competition Law and violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations by improperly and illegally assessing and charging property inspection fees.

Wells Fargo denies all liability and wrongdoing in this inspection fee class action lawsuit, but has agreed to settle the case in order to avoid the uncertainty of further litigation and increasing court costs.

Per the terms of the Wells Fargo inspection fee class action settlement, Wells Fargo will pay $27,750,000 to establish a settlement fee to compensate eligible Class Members for damages allegedly incurred by Wells Fargo’s actions.

I tend to agree with Anthony. If you received the card you need not do anything. Is that correct?

  2. Anthony says:

If I understand this correctly, if you received a post card AND if you have a current loan or if your loan was paid off (including refinancing with a different lender), you will automatically receive a check once the settlement is approved and pending all subsequent appeals. I received a post card and my loan is paid off therefore, sometime around August 2016, I should receive a check in the amount of ($27,750,000 less attorney fees divided by the total number of class members). Knowing the number of class members will be helpful. Cant find that info anywhere.

    1. Mrs. Rhonda says:

Reading my post card it says class members will automatically receive distribution but depending on how many people it may not amount to nothing

    2. jeff caryl says:

I just found out there will be more than 2,500,000 claimants. Looks like about $9.50 each. The attorneys made all the money as usual .

      1. Gary Knopp says:

Jeff if your math is right I would have opted-out. $9.50 is obscene. I would/should have consulted an attorney. Hind sight can be so foolish for people like me.I had NO IDEA what I needed to do…

      2. William says:

Just fyi we got 900 for our improper fees check.

    3. Nicole says:

2.7 million people, minus 4 that objected and minus 102 that opted out. Found on the below.

    4. Johanna says:

Hi, Anthony! so after all the fees are assessed how much would you receive? and would everyone receive the same amount ?

    5. Melissa says:

Have you received a check yet?

    6. Dave L Smith says:

Wells Fargo are the Biggest CROOKS in the game!!! They need to be investigated by the DOJ and shut completely down!!! Why we can’t get any justice!!!!

  3. Mrs. Rhonda says:

Is this legit because when i go on to file a claim my computer keeps saying that this is a high risk site but i recieved a legal notice in the mail?

  4. jww says:

The website will not pass my mcafee anti spyware security. It is coming in Hot. As many have already posted….it has been close to a decade since we were scammed and foreclosed on and kicked out of our homes…..how in the hell am I supposed to find all the illegal payments that I made and on what date….since they are mislabeled anyway? No one can answer the phone due to high call volume. I have been through one class action lawsuit (with these sobs) and did not have to prove this kind of wrong on the other one. Finding and going through the paperwork will be a nightmare. I have also been through a class action lawsuit with a bank concerning overcharges. Guess who I had to go through to get the information from? THE BANK. The bank said they would research the info for me and it was going to costs $1000s to do so. Some class action settlement that was. Didn’t get a dime. This one sounds the same so far. Cant talk to anyone, you have to prove them wrong, find all of the paperwork,, sounds like BS to me. If they know I was over charged for these property inspections then they should take care of it. I do know I was charged for the property inspections because I questioned them at the time. Every month I got one. They were wrong they should pay and they should do the research.

  5. Mrs. Gray says:

So so long ago what if I don’t have the paper work?

  6. Kara McCarthy says:

Please advise me on how to correctly complete the proof of claim and get the accurate amount of the property inspection fees paid. Thank you.

  7. LTO says:

Its been a number of years since the forclosure and I have no proof of the charges. Where can i find these?

  8. D Gordon says:

I would also like to know how you can see if I was charged for this.

    1. Myra M. Mckinney-Wilson says:

How can I get the information. I think i got something in the mail about this but can’t find the letter. Do you know if the claim information/claims number was listed on those letters? If so how can I get a copy sent to me

      Thank you,

      Myra M. Wilson

      1. Taconis Lewis says:

    Thanks

    1. Joseph White says:

It has been so long that I don’t have any proof that I paid these fees

  10. Pete J. Peter says:

What if I cant find my proof of payment records because its been this long and that I was foreclosed and kicked out of my house and while that Wells Fargo kept charging me and I have no access to those records either?

    1. shelly gillett says:

Im thinking any of you asking questions will not get answers unless you PAY for advice. Because you are class action, you will only receive regular info as everyone else included
