A proposed settlement has been reached in the Wells Fargo inspection fee class action lawsuit, resolving claims that Wells Fargo & Co. and Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. improperly assessed property inspections when a mortgage borrower allegedly fell behind on payments by 45 days or more and charged borrowers for that inspection.

Furthermore, the plaintiffs of the Wells Fargo class action lawsuit claim subsequent inspections of the mortgage property were also allegedly ordered every 25 to 35 days for as long as the borrower remained delinquent in payments.

Finally, the Wells Fargo inspection fee class action lawsuit claims the bank concealed these fees from by consumers by labeling them as “Other Charges” on mortgage statements.

The plaintiffs bring several claims against Wells Fargo in this inspection fee class action lawsuit, including violations of California’s Unfair Competition Law and violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations by improperly and illegally assessing and charging property inspection fees.

Wells Fargo denies all liability and wrongdoing in this inspection fee class action lawsuit, but has agreed to settle the case in order to avoid the uncertainty of further litigation and increasing court costs.

Per the terms of the Wells Fargo inspection fee class action settlement, Wells Fargo will pay $27,750,000 to establish a settlement fee to compensate eligible Class Members for damages allegedly incurred by Wells Fargo’s actions.

According to the court docket, there were several thousand deficient claims submitted and the settlement administrator is still working through the claims review process. No ETA on payment at this time.

  3. diane brennan says:

    We are getting $25.00.

    1. Tammy Bensley says:

How do you know how much you are getting??

    2. Jo says:

BS. There’s no way. Wells Fargo had to pay out around $20-40 for unwanted calls to customers cellphones, so there’s no way that only $25 will be the amount.

      1. Javier says:

        I agree with you Joe!

        1. Melissa says:

The amount you get is either $1.00 , $5.00 or $12.00
          It’s on the website

  4. katherine coker says:

I got behind on my payments when my ex husband started stealing my money, they added the extra 300 dollars every month after that so I ended up having to pay almost a thousand dollars a month for a tiny little 2 bedroom house with their “added fee”. I ended up having to modify my loan with them and it canceled out all those years that I had already paid on my house, almost 13 years down the drain and starting back at 30 years with a higher percentage rate higher. I think I’ll get back maybe 100 dollars for what they did to me.

  5. Janis says:

    Anything new to report yet?

    1. Shelly Gillett says:

I got my big $ 50.00 What a disappointment as I thought the amount was much greater, and was listed on the original post card!. I paid more than that in fees that’s for sure!

      1. Sherry Broaddus says:

        When did you get it?

      2. Jo says:

No one has received a check from the Wells Fargo Inspection Fee settlement yet.

  6. KTW says:

I am pretty sure if we were going to receive anything from this class action it would have happened already. Next thing to come up on this case will be so and so doesn’t qualify for any money because of such and such so the lawyers can get paid . Nothing left over for payments to the people that got taken advantage of. These class action suits are a sham for sure. My husband just received a check from a stock market class action suit that he had invested in . Check was for $7.25… See what I mean. The lawyers make it sound like we are all going to get up to $25,000 not true at all.

  7. Javier says:

Helo Topclass! Any updates? How much longer do you think we have to wait?

  8. Javier says:

Class actions! What wil happen if I sell my property? Do I nee dto ge in contact with anyone?

    Thank you!

    1. Top Class Actions says:

You should contact the settlement administrator or class counsel with your questions. Because the settlement includes inspection fees that occurred between 2004 and 2013, it’s more than likely your status as a class member will not be affected if you sell your home. Counsel is listed in the article, and can be Googled for contact information. If you do move, be sure and update the settlement administrator with your new address. Good luck!

      1. Tammy Bensley says:

Did you ever get an answer?? Have you received your amount??

  9. Stanley Presnar says:

If I ripped some off like they did you can bet my #@*% would be in jail and paying back every dime but these #@&@* get away with a slap on the wrist and a pat on the back what’s wrong with this picture. And no one can do a @#%* thing about it, the class actions are a joke too because you never get back what you deserve. ??/ ??

  10. Stanley Presnar says:

I’m sure we would at least get the amount of money that we have paid them that they illeaglly charged us. So we should get back what we were ripped off for. RESTITUTION

    1. katherine coker says:

Nope their were so many of us that we get back just a little bit, lawyers get a ton of money out of it though.
