A proposed settlement has been reached in the Wells Fargo inspection fee class action lawsuit, resolving claims that Wells Fargo & Co. and Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. improperly assessed property inspections when a mortgage borrower allegedly fell behind on payments by 45 days or more and charged borrowers for that inspection.

Furthermore, the plaintiffs of the Wells Fargo class action lawsuit claim subsequent inspections of the mortgage property were also allegedly ordered every 25 to 35 days for as long as the borrower remained delinquent in payments.

Finally, the Wells Fargo inspection fee class action lawsuit claims the bank concealed these fees from by consumers by labeling them as “Other Charges” on mortgage statements.

The plaintiffs bring several claims against Wells Fargo in this inspection fee class action lawsuit, including violations of California’s Unfair Competition Law and violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations by improperly and illegally assessing and charging property inspection fees.

Wells Fargo denies all liability and wrongdoing in this inspection fee class action lawsuit, but has agreed to settle the case in order to avoid the uncertainty of further litigation and increasing court costs.

Per the terms of the Wells Fargo inspection fee class action settlement, Wells Fargo will pay $27,750,000 to establish a settlement fee to compensate eligible Class Members for damages allegedly incurred by Wells Fargo’s actions.

I just today got a postcard that says I am included in the settlement. I am guessing you will recieve one too. I went through the same thing you did! I hope that they do this because we really got raked over the coals.

  4. Rigoberto says:

The best thing to do is to send those post cards to your senators/congressman and tell them that you disagree with this offer, and we are not going to pay a dime to those buffette atorneys or lawyers because you never authorize nobody to represent you for $8 dollars and give the rest of the 25,700,000 to the power of attorney. If the attorneys decide to continue we just can pay .5% of the lumb sum assigned to pay to the customers by Wells Fargo, we decide not to continue with the settlement for couple box or nothing but the attorneys get millions and bonus to rip us. Copy and paste to send with the post cards to the news, congressman/senators and the media.

I fall under the foreclosed post sale group. I have to contact some secret Wells Fargo place that can only be contacted by mail. or fax. Wells fargo will send you back to this site or phone number . Typical BULL SHIT by big corporations. They rip you off by dollars they pay you back by pennies. Who wins? The lawyers and the big corporations. This settlement can go f…… them selves.

    1. Cat says:

If you were upside down on your mortgage then you didn’t actually pay any fees.
