Reservie-trans-reservatrol

Vitamin Shoppe Inc. has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit that alleges the company made false and misleading statements about the ingredients in its Reservie Trans-Resveratrol dietary supplement.

If you purchased Vitamin Shoppe’s Reservie Trans-Resveratrol at any time between Jan. 1, 2011 and June 6, 2016, you may be entitled to a cash payment from the Vitamin Shoppe class action settlement.

The Reservie Trans-Resveratrol class action lawsuit was filed in January 2015 by plaintiff Rebecca Scheuerman, who alleged that the supplement’s label falsely represented the amount of the Trans-Resveratrol French grape seed extract that is actually contained in the supplement.

Trans-Resveratrol is a naturally-occurring chemical commonly found in grape skins and in red wine. While it is commonly associated with grapes, it can also be found in knotweed, which the Reservie class action lawsuit alleges is a much cheaper source of trans-reservatrol than French grape seed extract.

According to the Vitamin Shoppe class action lawsuit, Reservie Trans-Resveratrol is actually made up of Japanese Knotweed, not French grape seed extract. Scheuerman alleges she and other purchasers of Reservie have overpaid for the product.

Vitamin Shoppe denies the allegations but has agreed to settle the Reservie Trans-Resveratrol class action lawsuit to avoid the burden and expense of ongoing litigation. The Reservie class action settlement was preliminarily approved on June 17, 2016.

Class Members who wish to object to or exclude themselves from the Reservie false advertising settlement must do so no later than Sept. 23, 2016.

  1. Kellie Damon says:

Settlement Website Says There Are approximately 2634 legitimate individuals in the class however over 45,000 individuals filed claims. That is the reason the court ordered that the questionnaire be sent out. I wonder what will happen if they cannot weed out the 42,000 fraudulent claims. Nobody will get any money.

  2. sharron says:

you all are a bunch of cry babies. those of you who are upset and stating that you cannot remember the bottle or the pill shape are the reason for the fraudulent email received. my guess is 8 out of 10 filed a claim when they never purchased the product because you are just greedy. about time someone is cracking down on these class action junkies.

  3. Shannon D Anderson says:

Your kidding, right? Do you know how many different vitamins I have taken over the last 5 years? and medication in general? What a joke? But what are we suppose to do? Fill it out, but I don’t know half these questions. So does that me we automatically lose out?

You should contact the settlement administrator or class counsel with your questions and concerns. We wish you the best of luck! We’ve had several viewers with the same frustrations.

Did you delete a lot of comments from this section?
I remember seeing way more comments earlier and now those are gone including mine.

        1. Top Class Actions says:

We delete any comments that could possibly lead to false claim filing, anything with bad language, accusations against another viewer, ect. Please feel free to email us at questions@TopClassActions.com with any concerns!

  4. William says:

I received the same email as the other consumers who have posted on this site and I, too, was highly insulted by the inference from this lawsuit. I purchased a lot of bottles and at this point I can’t remember the exact dosage nor can I identify what the pill looked like as I take numerous ones every day. When I filled out the initial form, I didn’t save a copy so I don’t know if I can accurately re-create the identical answers. If this questionnaire doesn’t match the first one, it’s going to look like fraud, which I haven’t committed. Also, in previous class action lawsuits I’ve applied to, if you didn’t retain your sales slip as proof, you can only claim a certain amount of product, otherwise, if too much is claimed and goes beyond the limit, your claim is denied. This is obviously a trap that the Vitamin Shoppe team has set to suppress claims and payouts. Not so nice doing business with you people.

  5. Diane says:

Received the same email, filled it out. Believe they do this to reduce payouts.

I am going to look up the head office addy and send them pics of the Resveratrol I have replaced their product with. Along with the message I will NEVER purchase another thing from them.
I do not appreciate being called a FRAUD. I am 60 and my husband is 72, we are on no prescription meds, we have both been big proponents of going the natural route for preventive herbs, and supplements (you would not believe how much Turmeric we go through). So now all our business will go elsewhere.

They could have gotten the same message across without insulting anyone.

If ANYONE gets a settlement please post it as they state they will not be letting anyone know one way or the other by email.
Thank you all and the team here.

  6. Athena says:

I received the same email this is absurd!! I am offended by this. We pay money to get a product that is false and now this… What a joke.

  7. Wanda says:

That is the only thing I can’t answer on their crazy form we have to fill out. I at nearly 75 yrs old and I just can’t remember what the capsule looks like. I have searched the internet and ask the question, but can’t find nothing.

  8. Susan says:

I did that this morning. It just asks you questions about the product. How many you bought and how many in a bottle the milligrams etc. Simple questions.

  9. Cj says:

And one more thing while I’m at it….my mother is 82 years old…..and she’s far far far from fraudulent…… stop insulting my intelligence!!!!!!

  10. Cj says:

What a farce……so ignorant…..spend a lot of cash in vitamins to keep healthy! Some nerve……to deter the claims payout! There really somethin else!?????
