Synchrony Bank will pay $2.6 million as part of a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it violated federal telemarketing laws by placing calls to customers about accounts they didn’t own.
The settlement benefits consumers who received a call from Synchrony Bank or one of its agents using an artificial or prerecorded voice since Oct. 16, 2020, where the call concerned a Synchrony Bank account that didn’t belong to the call recipient.
Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit accused Synchrony of placing calls to consumers without their consent regarding accounts that did not belong to them. These calls allegedly violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
Synchrony Bank operates private-label credit cards for retailers such as Verizon, Lowe’s and more.
Synchrony hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $2.6 million class action lawsuit to resolve these TCPA allegations.
Under the terms of the Synchrony Bank settlement, class members can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund.
According to the settlement website, payments are estimated to be between $35 and $140. However, exact payments will vary depending on the number of participating class members and the amount deducted for various fees and costs.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is March 15, 2023.
The final approval hearing for the Synchrony Bank calls settlement is scheduled for April 25, 2023.
In order to receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by March 30, 2023.

128 thoughts onSynchrony Bank pre-recorded calls $2.6M class action settlement
Please add me to the law suit, I was contacted by them so many times with harassment, in which they were quite
unprofessional upon talking to them.
Synchrony keeps sending me emails about an unpaid bill…the amount is wrong and they have not sent me a statement even though I called 2x and requested itemized bill. The representatives finally admitted that my 116 dollar bill was really 40 dollars. They still have not sent me an itemized bill. They have also sold my mom’s supposed debt and refused to send me itemized bill for her even after I mailed them copy of POA and letter of incapacity. Why don’t they have to send itemized statements???? I just filed answer of complaint to LNVN
My friend call one who said that they were a Synomony Bank representative. She set up agree to pay. Do I have to pay them. They were overcharging me. I was not aware of there legal problem. I don’t want my credit destroyed.
How do you find out if you received a settlement on this case?

Please add me to the suit. I have been receiving automated calls every day in March from so-called Synchrony with a number to call left on voicemail. I have tried to Block these calls but they keep coming through. I do have one Synchrony account, and they assure me they have not called me.
