my pillow class action

A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging My Pillow Inc. made false and misleading statements with regard to its MyPillow products, causing consumers to pay more for the products than they otherwise would have paid.

If you purchased one or more MyPillow products between Apr. 26, 2012 and Oct. 13, 2016, you may be entitled to a cash payment from this class action settlement.

The MyPillow class action lawsuit was filed in April 2016 by plaintiff Armin Amiri who claims he purchased the product in reliance on the statements made in advertisements and other promotional material for the MyPillow product.

According to NBC News, My Pillow makes unsubstantiated claims that its MyPillow products can treat or cure several sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome and insomnia. The company was recently ordered to pay a $1 million fine for its false advertising campaign.

The MyPillow class action lawsuit asserts the www.MyPillow.com website and product packaging makes the following misleading claims about the benefits of the MyPillow products:

  • “Guaranteed The Most Comfortable Pillow You’ll Ever Own!”
  • “I invented My Pillow to solve all of these sleep problems”
  • “You will go into REM sleep faster and remain there longer for more productive sleep”
  • “Adjusts to any sleep position”
  • “Helps relieve pressure points and gets your body to right temperature for you to get into the REM and DELTA sleep cycles”

My Pillow denies any wrongdoing but has agreed to settle the class action lawsuit to avoid the burden and expense of ongoing litigation. The MyPillow settlement was preliminarily approved on Oct. 13, 2016.

If you would like to opt out of or object to the MyPillow class action settlement, you must do so no later than Dec. 26, 2016.

Yeah, like I’m gonna have the freakin’ receipt from a purchase I made 3 years ago! And if you click on the link to “file a claim” and if you didn’t get the pillows directly for MyPillow and have the email, I don’t see where there’s a way to submit a claim. I guess they figure if they make it hard enough, people just won’t bother.

Hmmm… sounds to me like someone was looking for a payday on the backs of yet another hard working American, and notice the name on the lawsuit?! I’m sure it’s legit though! (sarcastic)

    1. Dee says:

Yes, there is absolutely no chance that Armin Amiri could be a real name! (sarcastic)

    2. jill Goodman says:

What makes you think the person filing the lawsuit is not a hard working American. I really want to know.

Boy, oh, boy. Crappy liberals can’t stand to see a small business succeed.

    1. Dee says:

Wow, way to inject partisan politics into this but hey, I’ll play along. Why do republicans fight so hard to protect companies that commit fraud against consumers.

    2. jill says:

What does that mean and how do you know the people filing claims are liberals?
