my pillow class action

A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging My Pillow Inc. made false and misleading statements with regard to its MyPillow products, causing consumers to pay more for the products than they otherwise would have paid.

If you purchased one or more MyPillow products between Apr. 26, 2012 and Oct. 13, 2016, you may be entitled to a cash payment from this class action settlement.

The MyPillow class action lawsuit was filed in April 2016 by plaintiff Armin Amiri who claims he purchased the product in reliance on the statements made in advertisements and other promotional material for the MyPillow product.

According to NBC News, My Pillow makes unsubstantiated claims that its MyPillow products can treat or cure several sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome and insomnia. The company was recently ordered to pay a $1 million fine for its false advertising campaign.

The MyPillow class action lawsuit asserts the www.MyPillow.com website and product packaging makes the following misleading claims about the benefits of the MyPillow products:

  • “Guaranteed The Most Comfortable Pillow You’ll Ever Own!”
  • “I invented My Pillow to solve all of these sleep problems”
  • “You will go into REM sleep faster and remain there longer for more productive sleep”
  • “Adjusts to any sleep position”
  • “Helps relieve pressure points and gets your body to right temperature for you to get into the REM and DELTA sleep cycles”

My Pillow denies any wrongdoing but has agreed to settle the class action lawsuit to avoid the burden and expense of ongoing litigation. The MyPillow settlement was preliminarily approved on Oct. 13, 2016.

If you would like to opt out of or object to the MyPillow class action settlement, you must do so no later than Dec. 26, 2016.

  1. Courtney Maurer says:

What about the people like me, that just found this site & are too late to file a claim? “My Pillow” is causing me severe neck pain, not to mention not doing ANYTHING of the things it claimed to do; which is why I bought it in the 1st place. I don’t what a measly $5, I want ALL my $ back!

    1. Sherry says:

I’m with you. I have 4 of them! Neck pain started when I got them…awesome that I could see a whole $10 out of the $100 I spent….not even worth it

  2. LOUISE KNOTH says:

I bought My Pillow at least 9 years ago at a Home Show Booth in Tampa St Pete Florida. I still have the receipt. I paid $85 for it. At that time the reps at the booth asked what kind of sleeper are you..Back sleeper, side sleeper, etc. They had a certain pillow for the way you slept. Now all of sudden the commercials don’t mention that factor, from there I could tell something was wrong. Buy the way, I have a lot of the conditions mentioned it would cure. Never could get use to it, it felt very uncomfortable, did nothing he claims it would do. Louise

  3. Angie McNamer says:

I think the way they advertise buy one get one free is very misleading. I called thinking that I would get one for the 49.99 which is the advertised price and receiveone free. Never heard of the 89
    .oo one until I called.

  4. L gilbert says:

Ok, so let me get this right. You paid $60.00 for the pillow; if you enter the claim and do not have the receipt, you need to send the pillow back to get $5.00? Now how is that a settlement?

  5. Dan Daubert says:

When I saw the first commercial for My Pillow I knew he was nothing but a huckster. Figured the price was high if you got 2 for 1, never checked into it but see from comments here they are. But the best bullsh– claim was the one where his pillow was endorsed by the National Sleep Foundation. THAT’S HIS FOUNDATION! I told my wife the first time I saw his commercial that something wasn’t right there. This guy should be drug off advertising on any medium by the heels over hot coals.

  6. A Andrada says:

Did you NOT hear the comment ” MONEY BACK ” If your not satisfied ? I bet if you were ill in the hospital, you’d use and find the dam pillow to be better then raising the bed 24/7. During the commercials, advertising or on QVC, have I read or heard this is a cure all pillow. This pillow definitely has more positive features than most designer pillows out there. Some people are just lawsuit happy. Does he know “God don’t like Ugly”

    1. Faker says:

Yet here you are on a website that promotes class action lawsuits. God don’t like liars either.

  7. Neanderthal says:

I ordered one out of curiosity. When I received ONE pillow, I phoned them and said, “Where’s my other free pillow?” Girl on phone said, “You have to pay $100 instead of $50, that way you get a free pillow.” I said, “No, that’s twice as much for twice as many pillows. That is not ‘free.'” She said “yes it is. Two pillows cost $100. One of them is free.”
I have two or three exchanges in writing. I contacted Consumer Reports and the state AG. Nobody cares.
Glad this guy put the screws to that phony twit.

  8. Terry says:

How can I purchase one of these miracle pillows?

  9. Cathleen Pietrzyk says:

I knew this guy was an idiot and didn’t invent anything when he said the pillow helps keep your first 2 cervical vertebrae in line. Then proceeds to call them the Axis and Ulna!!! I even wrote then to tell to about this…Smh the Ulna bone is in your arm not your neck and the to cervical vertebrae they are talking about are the Atlas and Axis…. If this dude did one minute of research he would definitely know this was incorrect but yet on each infomercial I hear him say this. Just makes me laugh…?????

  10. Robin Mize says:

Are you kidding me? If they said, “It help grow back an amputated limb!” Then it would be a lawsuit! My mother loves these pillows. I’ve been contemplating on getting one. I’ve tried allot of pillows, and would like to try My Pillow. Seriously, people get a life! I agree that you need to watch what you say! The dumb down society won’t be able to decipher the truth! Too many pesticides in the food we eat!
