A class action settlement has been reached over an alleged norovirus outbreak that took place at the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, N.Y. If you experienced gastrointestinal illness within 72 hours after visiting the Mohonk Mountain House between Jan. 27, 2014 and Feb. 28, 2014, you may be eligible for payment from the class action settlement.

The Mohonk Mountain House class action lawsuit was filed by plaintiffs Louis Bellotti and Anna Marie Bellotti in 2014. They allege that a norovirus outbreak at the Mohonk Mountain House caused some visitors to experience gastrointestinal illness due to a norovirus outbreak. According to the class action settlement, gastrointestinal illness may involve nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, lethargy, weakness, muscle aches, headaches and/or fever.

The norovirus outbreak class action settlement seeks compensation for personal injuries of individuals who became sick after visiting the Mohonk Mountain House during the Class Period.

Under the terms of the proposed class action settlement, the defendant will establish a settlement fund of $875,000 to resolve the litigation and provide compensation to eligible Class Members.

I did not attend an event, did not stay overnight, nor pay for anything with a credit card. I was simply touring the property for potential wedding reception venue, and/or place for relative to stay while in
NY for wedding. I did become ill experiencing gastrointestinal distress. I did send the requested notorized statement on 3/18/2017, which should have been received by the Attorneys prior to the 3/31/2017 deadline.

I have not received any further communication from them as of today, June 17, 2017

In oct. 17. Was called by counsel and told checks were going out in a couple weeks. That would be approximately 2 weeks. I did not receive one do called around thanksgiving. Woman said there was a holdup if the funds and they hoped to have it resolved by end of the year.

          1. Roz says:

I called again in January 2018. Was told the checks had been mailed, But mine was being held for verification. They now wanted receipts. I explained again, as I did in the notorized statement I sent them, that I visited the property as a potential wedding site but did not stay or eat or buy anything onsite.
