A class action settlement has been reached over an alleged norovirus outbreak that took place at the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, N.Y. If you experienced gastrointestinal illness within 72 hours after visiting the Mohonk Mountain House between Jan. 27, 2014 and Feb. 28, 2014, you may be eligible for payment from the class action settlement.
The Mohonk Mountain House class action lawsuit was filed by plaintiffs Louis Bellotti and Anna Marie Bellotti in 2014. They allege that a norovirus outbreak at the Mohonk Mountain House caused some visitors to experience gastrointestinal illness due to a norovirus outbreak. According to the class action settlement, gastrointestinal illness may involve nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, lethargy, weakness, muscle aches, headaches and/or fever.
The norovirus outbreak class action settlement seeks compensation for personal injuries of individuals who became sick after visiting the Mohonk Mountain House during the Class Period.
The defendant denies any liability but has agreed to settle the norovirus outbreak class action lawsuit to avoid the uncertainty and expense associated with ongoing litigation. Under the terms of the proposed class action settlement, the defendant will establish a settlement fund of $875,000 to resolve the litigation and provide compensation to eligible Class Members.
The Mohonk Mountain House class action settlement was preliminarily approved on Jan. 15, 2016.

I mailed a letter to the administrator, because the phone number wasn’t working for me. I received a call back today from a woman named Lora, I asked her what I needed to do….if she needed a bank statement or what info would help. Lora informed me that I was mailed a letter in March of 2017 asking for more information and I didn’t reply. I told Lora I never received the letter, and she said it was to late for me to do anything at this point….my claim has been denied. Her phone number is 518-463-7784 if anybody feels like calling.
This is a message to the Administrator of Top Class Actions website:
I followed the directions on this website and filed a valid and timely claim.
The law firm handling distribution of the settlement checks has ” decided that I now need proof” that I was at the Mohonk Mountain House during the valid time period. Is this in the claim form somewhere? Instructions? In the claim settlement court order?
I “visited” the property on my own as I was scouting out possible wedding venues. I did not officially meet with anyone from the Hotel, and did not purchase any meals, souvenirs or merchandise during my hours spent walking through the property.
They told me, on the phone, that they are holding my check until I can prove I was there. I signed a notorized statement declaring exactly what I have just told you, but they want hard proof which I do not have, and thought I did not need to have.
Can you help me please? Where does it state, on any of this paperwork, that I need hard, physical proof?
The best thing to do is to contact class counsel with your concerns: http://www.mmhsettlement.com/. Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for additional proof to be required by the settlement administrator. We wish you the best of luck in getting your situation worked out!
TCA – Can you provide any update on this case? Is it in appeal or have payments been made yet, or what? Any information would be appreciated. Class counsel is not providing any details; and the Notice Company admin website hasn’t been updated since Aug 2016. Thanks for any update
Where’s are money????
Our lol
I’m beginning to think that something shady is happening at Dreyer Boyajian LLP with respect to the Mohonk Mountain House claim. I find it hard to believe that a legitimate Law Firm seems to be making moves to not pay out legitimate claims. I have read the claim paperwork several times and I clearly am an eligible claim member who followed all directions in submitting a valid and timely claim. Yet, all this time later, they are balking when it comes to their job to pay me.
Who exactly is the governing body that will make sure that Dreyer Boyajian LLP pays out this claim to the eligible class members? I want to know please. Phone numbers??
The Phone Number you have listed here, for the Claims Administrator is INCORRECT.
800-908-4746 is the Phone Number for a BAKERY.
SERIOUSLY PEOPLE????
The Tasty Alternative Bakery.
Do I REALLY have to call a
#¥%@$# BAKERY to get a STRAIGHT ANSWER??????
Anyone following this?
i have not heard anything. I thought the were suppose to mail out checks…
I just called the class counsel and was advised “they were getting the checks together and should be sent out within a month.”
Did they specify how much the payout per claim was?
No, they would not
TCA – What is the status? Administration has been pending for a year and a half. The law firm does not answer phone messages or email. What happened?
Anybody have any recent info?
