Mohonk Mountain House Norovirus Outbreak

A class action settlement has been reached over an alleged norovirus outbreak that took place at the Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, N.Y. If you experienced gastrointestinal illness within 72 hours after visiting the Mohonk Mountain House between Jan. 27, 2014 and Feb. 28, 2014, you may be eligible for payment from the class action settlement.

The Mohonk Mountain House class action lawsuit was filed by plaintiffs Louis Bellotti and Anna Marie Bellotti in 2014. They allege that a norovirus outbreak at the Mohonk Mountain House caused some visitors to experience gastrointestinal illness due to a norovirus outbreak. According to the class action settlement, gastrointestinal illness may involve nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, lethargy, weakness, muscle aches, headaches and/or fever.

The norovirus outbreak class action settlement seeks compensation for personal injuries of individuals who became sick after visiting the Mohonk Mountain House during the Class Period.

The defendant denies any liability but has agreed to settle the norovirus outbreak class action lawsuit to avoid the uncertainty and expense associated with ongoing litigation. Under the terms of the proposed class action settlement, the defendant will establish a settlement fund of $875,000 to resolve the litigation and provide compensation to eligible Class Members.

DO ANYONE KNOW THE DATE WHEN CHECKS ARE MAILED?

  6. james says:

Donald Trump has no ownership in Mohonk Mountain House. It has been owned by the same family since it’s beginning. Look up the history. If you really were there you would know this!

    1. Jennell says:

Wrong. The ownership is under Melania so it is somewhat secret. You have to do a detailed search under real estate records.

  7. Jose says:

I just found out Donald Trump is a part owner of Mohonk Resort. Go figure.

  8. Juana says:

I would never go to Mohonk because they don’t have spicy tacos.

  9. Katie says:

There should be no more then 200 claims, cause that’s about how many people got sick.

    1. Floris says:

There could be other people who just got bad headaches or stomach aches and did not report there problems. Those peoples deserve $28 for there inconvenient.

  10. Linda says:

I called last month they told me to check back at end of July . Somebody on another site said that over 20,000 claims are in which would make the settlement approximately $28.00 don’t know if that is true ?

    1. Floris says:

$28 is better then nothing. I remember when I was eight years and went to a hotdog stand and bought a hotdog and 30 minutes later I was throwing up. I never even got a refund for the hotdog so $28 is better than nothing.
