Keurig has agreed to pay $31 million to resolve claims it violated antitrust laws by fixing the price of its Keurig K-Cup Portion Packs products.

The settlement benefits individuals who purchased Keurig K-Cup Portion Packs from retailers other than Keurig between Sept. 7, 2010, and Aug. 14, 2020, in all states other than Mississippi and Rhode Island; between March 24, 2011, and Aug. 14, 2020, in Mississippi; or between July 15, 2013, and Aug. 14, 2020, in Rhode Island.

Claims against Keurig were consolidated in June 2014. According to the plaintiffs in the eight consolidated class action lawsuits, Keurig violated antitrust laws in order to monopolize the market for single-serve coffee pods. This monopoly allegedly allowed the company to artificially fix the price of Keurig K-Cup Portion Packs products — subjecting consumers to financial strain that wouldn’t exist in a healthy market.

In December 2017, these claims were preserved by a federal judge who denied the company’s motion for dismissal.

Keurig has not admitted any wrongdoing in the case but has agreed to a $31 million Keurig K-Cup Portion Packs class action settlement. The settlement provides reimbursement for Keurig K-Cup purchases in the form of cash payments. Reimbursement rates will vary from 0.75% to 100% depending on the state the purchase was made in and whether proof of purchase was submitted with a claim.

In order to benefit from the settlement, Class Members must file a valid claim form by July 15, 2021. Proof of purchase of Keurig K-Cup purchases and information about these purchases (number of K-Cups purchased, price paid, state where purchase took place, brand name, etc.) is required to validate claims.

The deadline for exclusion is May 14, 2021. The deadline for objection is May 17, 2021. The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for June 4, 2021.

To answer all the comments – I don’t know why anyone got an email telling them that checks were going out at the end of the month. I received no email. I got a check – not Venmo or PayPal. I did submit proof of purchase for the Keurig brewers I purchased and then a few
proofs of pods from my Amazon purchases. But mostly I estimated my usage. It was stated in the suit that you would get a higher percentage of costs if you could showed proof of buying the machine and that’s what I did. No idea why mine came so early……it was mailed
8/9 from Seattle and I got it on 8/14.

Thanks for replying😊 I guess I’ll wait (im)patiently, since it’s all I can do, lol!

  2. Sheri F says:

    Gail P
How’s that when I got an email today that said payments will be mailed to approved claimants at the end of the month?

  3. Mark says:

Just got my check. I’ve been buying the massive boxes for years. Thankfully Kuerig paid off! Still feel cheated since I spent $500 on their DrinkMaker and then they up and close the dang thing-cant order the booze cups no more- leaving me with a useless machine.

  4. Gail P says:

I got my check on 8/14/23 for the Keurig Indirect Purchasers Antitrust Settlement suit…..$1,513.26.

    1. Cristal B says:

Was it a mailed check, venmo or PayPal?

    2. TP says:

Did you submit proof of purchase? I’m wondering if they sent those out first and then will be sending the one’s that didn’t have proof🤔 strange that there’s no update on the website.

  5. Gail says:

    Just got mine today…….$1,513.26

  6. Jennifer L says:

My sister got her check today, August 14, 2023 so they must be starting to send …. I haven’t received anything so far …

      1. Liz says:

Was your sisters check a decent amount? Just curious after waiting over 2 years now . If you submitted receipts we should be
reimbursed 100% . Was wondering if that is still the case. I read somewhere lawyers fees were a third of the 31 million settlement .

  7. Loretta says:

Is this one where you had to submit proofs of purchase? I could only retrieve my online purchases. I submitted a claim for over 200.00 and received nothing.
I remember a woman at the time saying she did her father’s and sent over 500.00 worth. I saw no one get paid.

  8. Howard says:

I received an Email from class counsel that they are
requesting that Winn Dixie resolve the issue exit
week or they will go back to the Federal Judge to
order payment as Winn Dixie objects to the special
master for payments to class members

    1. Liz says:

Has anyone heard anything or gotten any new information on when payment will be released?

      1. Jen says:

You can email them for updates, but most recent from 7/28 I got was the settlement claims are under review and a distribution date has not been set, it will be posted when they have one.

  9. Florance says:

Just noticed it was deposited in my paypal last week. Ridiculous how long this took and it only paid $3.45 and I submitted a few receipts. Waste of time

    1. Liz says:

Again I dont see how this is possible . No settlement payment date was announced. This had to be for another settlement . Keurig had another settlement for 10 million this case was for 31 million.
Go to the website. You’ll see no payment date has been given

    2. Liz says:

Below is on the website as if today . I cut and pasted it

Important Update: The Distribution Order has been entered. A Settlement payment distribution date has not yet been set. Please check this website periodically for updates.
