Ford Lawsuit

Claim Forms for the Ford diesel engine class action settlement are now available at the Settlement Administrator website. If you purchased or leased a 2003-2007 Ford vehicle equipped with a 6.0-liter PowerStroke diesel engine, you may be eligible to claim between $50 and $825 from the class action settlement.

The Ford diesel engine settlement resolves dozens of class action lawsuits, consolidated as In re: Navistar 6.0L Diesel Engine Products Liability Litigation, that claim the PowerStroke diesel engines installed in heavy-duty Ford trucks and vans are defective and plagued with problems.

Ford denies the allegations but agreed to reimburse consumers through a class action settlement fund to resolve the litigation.

The settlement covers 2003-2007 non-ambulance Ford vehicles sold or leased in the United States and equipped with a 6.0-liter PowerStroke diesel engine. To be eligible to participate in the class action settlement, your vehicle must have received a repair, replacement, or adjustment during Ford’s 5-year/100,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty to one of the following engine components:

  • Exhaust Gas Recirculation (“EGR”) Cooler
  • Oil Cooler
  • Fuel Injector(s)
  • EGR Valve
  • Turbocharger
Who’s Eligible

Class Members that submit a valid Claim Form will receive one of the following benefits if the class action lawsuit settlement is approved:

Reimbursement for Post-Warranty Repairs to Certain Engine Components. If the Class Vehicle required repair to the EGR cooler, oil cooler, EGR valve, turbocharger, or a fuel injector after the original five-year/100,000-mile warranty expired — but before six years or 135,000 miles (whichever comes first) — Ford will reimburse the Settlement Class Member repair expenses up to the limits specified below, provided the Class Vehicle previously received a repair to that same component that was covered by Ford’s original warranty.

Ford Diesel settlement benefits

Potential Award

Up to $825

Reimbursement of Deductibles. If a Settlement Class Member paid a $100 deductible more than once for repairs under the five-year/100,000-mile engine warranty, Ford will reimburse $50 each for the second through fifth deductible paid, up to a limit of $200 for four deductible payments.

After filling my claim going on 8 months …. how long does it take to get answer and reimbursement.

  5. Heather says:

We had less than three months from the time the suit settled to file for compensation, doesn’t seem fair

  6. Heather says:

We missed it too. Got the original letter dated 12/14/12 and was following up now that the truck is dead in the driveway.

  7. glenn says:

Seems I missed the cut off date for my 2 turbochagerr fixes, wish I had been informed. Attorney fees and expenses are 12.8 million and 1.25 million, my cut $0.00. Thank you very much.

  8. Frank says:

I purchased (3) Trucks in 12/06 (136K). Everything was fine for the first (2) years. But, I started having problems after 2 years on my work trucks. I finally had to get rid of my personal 250 King Ranch. And, I hated it. I’m still trying to figure-out how I’m going to unload the (2) works trucks. It’s unlikely that I’ll get a decent return on them. They both have less than 50K miles. I’ve sank over $5k in repairs. Not including the down-time. My faith in Ford is non-existent. HELLO DODGE!!!

  9. Terry R. says:

What do I do if I miss the cut off of this claim. I was not aware of the claim and I bought my truck brand new in 2007. I had to replace my turbo in sept. 2013 and now my rpms is jumping up and down when the truck is idling after being driven for a while

  10. Scott Baine says:

Bought an 05 F250crewcab superduty went to get inspected found out head gasket is in early stages of blowing needs I jectors(2) of them nothing has been changed on the engine as far as bullet proofing all stock. Needs the Degas bottle replaced hose on turbo leaking fuel out. The power steering pump and hoses leaking and a long long list of factory parts need replacing on the engine and I’m looking at over $12,000 I. Repair bills wow I thought I was buying a heavy duty long lasting truck was I ever miss lead. Does any one need a large paper weight LOL. HELP I need HELP I’m to old to be walking!
