Conair Corporation has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging some of its Cuisinart food processors come with riveted blades that crack over time and cause portions of the blade to detach.

If you own a Cuisinart food processing machine, you may be entitled to benefits from the class action settlement.

The Cuisinart class action lawsuit alleges that the food processor machines were promoted as functional even though they did not function as advertised. On Dec. 13, 2016, Cuisinart recalled the blades supplied with certain Cuisinart food processors. A Cuisinart recall class action lawsuit was subsequently filed, and alleged violations of the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, and breach of express and implied warranties.

“On December 13, 2016, Conair announced a recall and instructed the owners of 8 million Cuisinart brand food processors to stop using the primary chopping blade included with the machine immediately,” the Cuisinart class action lawsuit says.

“Owners were instructed to contact the company for replacement blades, but months later — long after when many owners would have used the machines to prepare holiday meals — Cuisinart owners are still waiting for replacement blades.”

The plaintiffs claim that they would have paid far less for the Cuisinart machines if they had known that they would be instructed to shelve the product for six or more months.

Conair denies any wrongdoing or liability but has agreed to settle the Cuisinart food processor blade class action lawsuit to avoid the cost and risk of litigation.

Class Members who would like to opt out of or object to the Cuisinart blade settlement must do so no later than Feb. 26, 2018.

  2. Stephanie says:

I just got free blade from the mail box on Monday in Illinois

  3. Deanna says:

Thank you so much for this! I was literally just about to get up to use my machine. I had no idea that the blades had been recalled and I most definitely have the riveted S-blade that has been recalled.

I feel very fortunate to have run across this notification. Thank you so much for having these all together in one location where people can take a look and see if there is an issue with a product or service that they are, or had been, using.

I am especially upset as I always fill out the warranty card information and Cuisinart did not notify me. I chose them due to how sturdy and well build the machine is as well as the reviews on their customer care.

  4. Gina says:

I contacted the company at a minimum of 8 months ago and requested my new blade and have not heard a thing back. I will not buy another conair product. They knew their blades were faulty for a long time before putting out their recall. You try calling and you just wait and wait. Nobody answers. I emailed, we will see if anything happens. cuisinart_cserve@conair.com

  5. pen ny owler says:

way to thin the pot.. I called in numerous times after my blade assembly cracked and could no longer be used. the ONLY options offered was to BUY a replacement, to which I felt was WRONG and refused… in frustration if threw away the whole darn thing, did not get the use out of the product I paid for as it was defective from the start.. and NOW I cannot benefit from the class action because of their poor customer service and refusal to cover what should have been a warranty repair given the short time I had it, in the first place…..!

  6. Diane Santolucito says:

have been waiting for months for my replacement blade. I was finally forced to purchase another food processor. If I ever get the blade, I guess I can just keep the processor as a back-up.

  7. Bonny Jo Castellano says:

I’m glad I saw this. It’s been many moons since I requested my new blades that I haven’t received. Tomorrow morning,I will gather all the info and try again. If I understand correctly, maybe I’ll get the blades and $15?

  8. Terrea Mills says:

This product was with given to a friend child after I didn’t have any use. Unknown to me if they are in need of new blades. So my question is I’m out of luck for the $15

  9. billy says:

I called every month until I got a NEW blade…. they told me on the phone that they did not think they would get such a HUGE request for new blades…. it took almost a year but after months of calling…. it came!

  10. Carol B. says:

I was one of the first to file for replacements, the day of the announcement, and after enduring months and months of outright lies and excuses from Conair, I gave up, and bought a blender with pulse action (all I could afford). I no longer trust that company, or its product, and will not use it, with or without replacement blades, but they would not allow me to return it–whether for refund, which was my preference, or replacement.
