T-Mobile Data Breach Overview:

  • Who: A hacker gained access to T-Mobile’s servers, potentially stealing data of 100 million T-Mobile customers.
  • Why: The customers’ personal information is now being sold on online forums.
  • Where: T-Mobile is headquartered in Washington, but the data breach may affect millions of customers across the United States.

Hackers have potentially nabbed the personal information of 100 million T-Mobile USA customers, which is reportedly being sold on online forums.

The data breach includes customers’ names, Social Security numbers, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, and unique device identification numbers, according to Krebs on Security. The data, which does not include Sprint accounts, may even go as far back as the mid-1990s.

An ongoing investigation by T-Mobile confirmed the data breach, but not whether personal customer data was leaked or the scale of the breach.

In a statement, T-Mobile noted that it was “confident that the entry point used to gain access has been closed.”

However, Motherboard reports that it obtained intel from the person selling the stolen information online, who claims the hacker already “backed up [the customer data] in multiple places” before T-Mobile restricted access.

A class action lawsuit has not yet been filed for this T-Mobile data breach. In 2015, T-Mobile and Experian North America Inc. faced a class action lawsuit by consumers who claimed their information was exposed in a data breach that potentially affected 15 million people.

If you were affected by this data breach, you may be able to join a future class action lawsuit

Who Caused The T-Mobile Data Breach?

The identity of the hacker has not yet been revealed or confirmed by T-Mobile or other authorities.

As Krebs on Security reports, the Twitter account @Und0xxed called attention to the breach on the social media platform.

Although claiming to not be the hacker themselves, they have given credit to the Twitter user @IntelSecrets, who may also be known under the names IRDev and V0rtex.

Top Class Actions will continue to monitor the T-Mobile data breach and report on any updates.

I am not a T-Mobile customer but back August 2021 they allowed a female from Nortern California to apply for a cell phone and ran a credit they had approved her but when I saw the credit request I immediately called and they discontinued her account. However due to them not looking and noticing the different birthdate my information was In their data base and is now on the dark web that worked getting off for ever 10 years. I am having pay to monitor my credit reports because this girl also tried to get a Walmart card and others but the Police will do nothing so I have pay this and scrutinize my reports constantly

Hello I am with TMobile and they advertised the sync up device in which the advertisement was for road side assistance and per the agreement there was no limit and. I mention of service credits per yearly Use. I even requested this info in writing which I received. I found out that all of the services I am used they did not pay for any of them but they ran them through m you to allstate insurance policy that I happen to have and now I have several claims and these are over the years and the vehicles I be used the sync app o no is not the vehicle I have insured and these vehicles were not covered by me my insurance policy and it now looks like I was using my Allstate roadside assistance policy on vehicles I do not even have insured I just discovered this a few days ago. This is when I also noticed where they want to charge for use of roadside asst which they said was part of the sync up plan. They totally lied regarding the plan as it has all these hidden fees. Just like their advertisement for the older plans which I have where they say you get unlimited data but not true you get 3g then is slows down to a less favorable data plan. And lastly the 5g data that they said I would get I do not get as my wifi rolls over to less inferior company that TMobile partners with and it’s 3g even though they told me I would have 5g service it is not true. I know they leaked my info because I had someone get into my wells Fargo online banking and deposited three bad checks resulting in my acct closing and it is still being investigated

T-Mobile had a data breach in August 2021. I was personally told that my information was not compromised and was offered a few bucks off my current bill. I accepted the offer, and believed that my information wasn’t breached.
Fast forward to 2022. While currently dealing with Capital One’s data breach, I was told to go and freeze my credit. While doing so on Experian.com, I saw that my information was in fact compromised through T-Mobile’s data breach. I immediately called the company, and they basically told me that they had thousands of customers to inform about the data breach, and they may have missed a few. Offered me $20 off my current bill. I declined and expressed that they were supposed to offer me credit monitoring and reset personal pin, which is stated on their website. I was not offered any of those. Needless to say, this matter was not settled. Later that week, I had two FRAUDLANT transactions on my bank account. Someone had stole my bank card information and sent the confirmation receipt to my personal email address. file police report, and is currently looking to see what I can do about this matter. I’ve been a T-Mobile customer for 5 years, I deserve the truth!!

Add me please and thank you. And as of today I was told by a TMobile rep in regards to the current LG issue with phones, most of Tmobile Customers are simply coming into TMobile to get new phones with no compensations being offered to LG cell phone customers and no estimate as to when the LG issue would if ever be resolved. Sounds like a good way for TMobile to boost it’s sales in cell phones at the cost of it’s customers.

  9. Noriel Beard says:

I am a T-Mobile customer and have been for years please add me
