Update: Palmer v. Sprint Settlement Checks Being Processed
By Kimberly Mirando
Settlement checks for the Palmer v. Sprint solicitation call class action settlement will start going out by the end of the month, according to one of the attorneys representing the class.
“We are now advised that Sprint is in the final stages of verification of claims and calculation of payments, and payments should start no later than the end of April,” attorney Rob Williamson of Williamson & Williams told Top Class Actions.
A federal court approved the Sprint class action settlement in October 2011 but distribution of settlement funds was delayed by an objection by a settlement Class Member. The objection was overruled by the court, which was subsequently appealed by the same Class Member.
On February 14, 2013, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the District Court’s judgment and order of final approval. Claims are now being processed according to the final approval order and settlement agreement.
Current and former Sprint customers who received a solicitation/telemarketing call from Sprint between 2005 and 2011 and submitted a valid claim by the deadline of November 21, 2011 will receive one of the following awards:
– Category (1) Class Members could receive up to $500 per incident with a maximum of $2,000.
– Category (2) Class Members could receive up to $100 per incident with a maximum of $400.
– Category (3) Class Members could receive up to $500 per incident with a maximum of $2,000.
– Class Members who fall into all three categories could receive up to a maximum amount not to exceed $4,400.

has anybody received a check yet?
geez, people need to take it easy.. Sprint called you a few times, big deal. We will soon have $80 more in our pockets, a lot better than nothing, if you ask me. I wish it was in the thousands, but who really thought we would even see a dime?
WOW 80 BUCKS! IM IN THE MONEY NOW! THANKS TO THE FAIRNESS OF THE LAWYERS
Yeesh. 80 bucks for me too. Hard to see how this settlement benefits anyone but the lawyers. Oh well…
This is a bunch of BS….why would they mislead people into thinking they can get up to $500 per incident, it equals out to about $10 per incident…after all this time waiting, they did people wrong…
After waiting for 2 Yrs, I called the (800) number this morning and was told that A check for $80.85 was mailed out today for Me! Two years for $80.85, Really!!!
Called: 1 (800) 465-4481. . . they told me check was dated for today and mailed out. . .a whopping $40.42. . WTH!
$80.82 is what they told me printed & mailed today….that just out of control.. they couldnt even pay at least $100 per incident…after all the money sat to collect interest…
What 800 number are you not idiots calling?
hi ya big dummy
Bs! I just called and basically I like everyone else Waite 2 years to receive all of 40 dollars! Wtf! Looks like the lawyers made out like bandits and used us in the process to get the highest dollar amount. I’m going to file a formal complaint with the bar association in their area. SMMFH
