Patient Files Xarelto Internal Bleeding LawsuitPlaintiff Callie O. has filed a bleeding problems with Xarelto lawsuit, alleging that the manufacturers of the drug never appropriately warned her or the medical community about the dangers of significant bleeding which could occur after regular and prescribed use of Xarelto.

The plaintiff alleges in the bleeding problems with Xarelto lawsuit that the drug itself is dangerous to human health, defective and unsuitable to be sold and marketed in commerce. Furthermore, the lawsuit says that the drug did not include appropriate directions or warnings linked to the dangers connected to its use.

The plaintiff says she was prescribed Xarelto in November 2015 for the prevention and treatment of blood clotting. In August 2016, however, the patient began to experience bleeding problems with Xarelto when she was diagnosed as having blood in her urine.

She remained hospitalized at a medical center in Texas from August 15th through August 17th of 2016. The plaintiff’s doctors discontinued the plaintiff’s use of Xarelto because of those injuries. The bleeding problems with Xarelto lawsuit says that the injuries sustained were directly and proximately caused by Xarelto, leading to unnecessary costs, pain and other problems for the plaintiff.

Doctors give patients a prescription for Xarelto for the prevention of strokes and blood clots. The medication came in the form of a once-a-day pill, but was tied to internal bleeding risks shortly after it came to market.

In May 2018, the first antidote for Xarelto’s internal bleeding risks was approved by the FDA, which is expected to be available for the general medical community and patients by 2019. Prior to the development of the Xarelto reversal agent, there were no antidotes available to patients who began to experience severe internal bleeding.

By 2016, millions of people had received prescriptions for Xarelto. Some patients who took the drug as prescribed were hospitalized for internal bleeding issues and sustained serious pain and accumulated medical bills and other damages.

In the most recent Xarelto lawsuit, the plaintiff says that bleeding problems with Xarelto began after taking the drug as instructed by a physician and alleges that the defendants did indeed have knowledge about Xarelto’s defects but purposely failed to disclose those to the general public and instead argue that the drug had been appropriately tested and effective for intended use.

The bleeding problems with Xarelto lawsuit goes on to argue that the defendants were engaged in overly promotional and aggressive physician marketing as well as directed consumer advertising campaigns for Xarelto. The bleeding problems with Xarelto lawsuit is requesting equitable relief, punitive damages, compensatory damages and other expenses associated with injuries sustained by ingesting Xarelto.

Many patients who have suffered from bleeding problems with Xarelto have chosen to file lawsuits with the help of experienced attorneys, alleging that the manufacturers did not do enough to include appropriate warnings about the dangers of the drug so that patients or doctors could make an informed decision.

The Bleeding Problems with Xarelto lawsuit is case 2:18-cv-07704-EEF-MBN filed in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana.
