Fanatics handling fees class action settlement

Fanatics agreed to a class action settlement to resolve claims it charged customers handling fees despite advertising “free shipping” on its websites.

The Fanatics settlement benefits consumers who purchased merchandise through Fanatics websites and were assessed and paid a handling fee between May 6, 2018, and March 30, 2026. A list of included websites can be found on the settlement website.

Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim Fanatics charged handling fees on orders despite advertising “free” or flat-rate shipping on its websites. These handling fees allegedly violated Florida law.

Fanatics is an online sports merchandise retailer that sells jerseys, hats, shirts and other apparel for a variety of teams and players.

Fanatics has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the handling fees class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the class action settlement, class members can receive two $5 vouchers for use on Fanatics.com. No minimum purchase is required to use the vouchers.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is Aug. 27, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the Fanatics settlement is scheduled for Sept. 16, 2026.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Aug. 27, 2026.

Who’s Eligible

The class action settlement benefits consumers who purchased merchandise through the Fanatics websites between May 6, 2018, and March 30, 2026, and who were assessed and paid a handling fee on their purchase.

Potential Award

Two $5 vouchers toward a single purchase on the Fanatics.com website.
