NuWave Oven Power Dome Defective, Consumers ClaimA growing number of consumers are complaining that their NuWave oven power dome component—the clear, plastic covers that come with NuWave countertop ovens—are defective, prone to cracking and failure. Consumers claim that NuWave knows of the problem but has ignored it, failing to fix the issue when customers complain.

The NuWave ovens are meant as a countertop method of preparing traditionally oven-cooked food, using conduction heat, convection heat, and infrared heat. These products, which include a NuWave oven power dome cover, are advertised as being both “durable” and “shatter resistant”. Costs run about $120 per device plus shipping and handling.

Consumers claim, however, that the NuWave oven power dome is defective and likely to crack and fail. Consumers are then forced to replace the NuWave oven power dome if they want to use their NuWave oven at all. Despite the necessity of the power dome component, and despite the fact that the product comes with a warranty, customers claim that NuWave has not been inclined to fix their defective product.

Instead of the company addressing the problem, consumers claim they were discouraged from using the product’s warranty. This may include being told that no replacements were available, or that there is an extra charge for either the NuWave oven power dome replacement or for shipping and handling fees.

If you purchased a countertop oven with a NuWave oven power dome within the last three years and the plastic dome cover cracked, you may be able to join this class action lawsuit investigation, especially if you were discouraged from using the company’s warranty.

NuWave Oven Power Dome Lawsuit

A class action lawsuit was filed over the defective NuWave oven power dome in May 2018, alleging that NuWave is aware of the defects associated with its oven, but continues to sell the product anyway. Moreover, plaintiffs claim that, if they attempt to replace the NuWave oven power dome, the company manipulates them into paying more to replace it—even when the product is still under its one-year warranty.

In some cases, the lawsuit claims, consumers may be informed that the NuWave oven power dome is out of stock and are told to pay for a replacement premium NuWave oven power dome. (The lawsuit also notes that this premium product may also be prone to cracking, just like the standard version.)

“Instead of providing consumers with free, non-defective replacements for their cracked and unusable Standard Domes, NuWave has a standard practice of manipulating consumers into paying to upgrade to NuWave’s newer, more expensive, Power Dome, an amber-colored dome which is advertised as being ‘virtually indestructible,’” the NuWave lawsuit claims.

If you purchased a NuWave oven power dome (either the Pro or Pro Plus version) in the last three years and after the dome cracked have had difficulty trying to replace the product, you may be able to participate in a class action lawsuit investigation.

Add me too, if it is not too late. Our dome broke completely into. Plastic weld glue does not work. Can’t afford $75 for a new one. Thanks.

My wife and I purchased our nuwave pro plus through walmart Canada online in June 2018 and received it in August 15 2018 through Canada post.. We have now had it for 15 month’s and use it three times a week. We used it yesterday to cook our meal and afterwards when I cleaned it I noticed in three areas of the dome where it is just starting to form little crack lines. It is a very good counter top cooking unit, and very unfortunate they do not use a thicker plastic to avoid cracks in the dome.
