Beacon Promotions Inc. has issued a voluntary M&M recall of certain repackaged M&M candies due to undeclared allergens that could pose health risks to individuals with allergies.
“The recalled products have undeclared allergens, including milk, soy, and peanut,” the recall notice says.
The M&M recall, initiated on Jan. 26 affects a total of 6,329 units of M&M candies distributed across 20 states, including California, Texas and New York, among other states.
The recall was classified as a Class II recall by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Feb. 4 indicating that the use of the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, with the probability of serious health consequences being remote.
The affected products include 1.3-ounce packages of Peanut M&M candies labeled as “Make Your Mark” and other promotional labels. These products are identified by specific lot numbers and best-by dates, such as Lot M1823200 with a best-by date of April 30, 2026.
Recall: Consumers should return or discard affected M&M candies
The M&M recall urges consumers in possession of the recalled product should immediately return it to its place of purchase or discard it.
Beacon Promotions Inc. is actively working to address the issue by notifying its distributors and customers about the M&M recall through email communications. The company is committed to ensuring that all affected products are removed from circulation to prevent any potential health risks.
