Alpine Fresh ‘Hippie Organics’ French Beans Recall Overview:
- Who: Alpine Fresh has issued a voluntary recall for certain one-pound packages of its “Hippie Organics” French Beans.
- Why: The recall was initiated over concerns the french beans may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
- Where: The recall is nationwide.
Alpine Fresh has initiated a recall for its “Hippie Organics” French Beans due to concerns the product may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The voluntary recall affects certain one-pound packages of “Hippie Organics” French Beans that were sold in Whole Foods and Aldi retail stores around the United States, according to a recall published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on April 21.
Alpine Fresh says it discovered that the “Hippie Organics” French Beans may have been contaminated following routine product testing.
Coming in contact with Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious or sometimes fatal infections in the elderly, frail, young children or others with weakened immune systems, according to the recall.
The recalled french beans were from lot number 313-626, which can be identified on the back of the products clear plastic packaging via a small, white label, according to the recall.
Alpine Fresh Says Potential Contamination ‘Isolated’ To Recall
Alpine Fresh says the potential contamination has been “isolated to the identified lot” and that it has taken “corrective actions to prevent a recurrence.”
No illnesses have been reported as a result of the potential listeria contamination, according to the recall.
Alpine Fresh is advising consumers who purchased the recalled “Hippie Organics” French Beans to return the product to its place of purchase to receive a full refund.
Consumers who have additional questions about the recall can contact Alpine Fresh directly by phone at 1-866-827-3362.
Another product sold at Whole Foods was taken off the shelves earlier this month when Van Law Food Products recalled Whole Foods Market 365 brand Organic Creamy Caesar Dressing over concerns the product may contain undeclared wheat and soy.
