Xtreme-HGHIn spite of alleged adverse side effects associated with human growth hormone (HGH) supplements, sales of such products remain strong.

XPI Xtreme HGH is one supplement that is becoming increasingly popular, marketing itself as a product that uses proven ingredients to naturally stimulate HGH production, without causing serious side effects or health problems.

Ingredients found in XPI Xtreme HGH are Alpha GPA (encourages the production of human growth hormone), GABA (may aid with fat burning), L-Arginine (reduces recovery time after workouts), L-Dopa (assists with muscle healing), L-Isoleucine (promotes healthy tissue maintenance), L-Leucien (may increase energy levels and accelerate fat burning), and L-Ornithine (boosts the metabolism and burns fat).

In California, HGH can be bought after a medical exam is given and a physician makes a diagnosis that HGH clinics should prescribe it. However, HGH Clinics in California are expected to charge high prices.

With its rising popularity, some HGH supplement manufacturers are allegedly engaging in false advertising to promote their products. These supplements are advertised as being able to grow muscle, increase height, and having anti-aging properties.

Some studies, however,  suggest that these products likely accelerate the aging process due to the biological effects on the body and may possibly be antagonistic towards growth and other biological functions. There are also allegations of some HGH supplements that cause health complications, including heart attacks and strokes. Other possible side effects of HGH use include nerve, muscle, or joint pain; swelling due to fluid in the body’s tissues (edema); carpal tunnel syndrome; numbness and tingling of the skin; and high cholesterol levels. HGH can also increase the risk of diabetes and contribute to the growth of cancerous tumors.

A 2010 study from France found that patients who were treated with a certain human growth hormone, called a recombinant human growth hormone, during childhood had an increased chance of dying early.

Despite these possible complications, HGH supplement popularity remains strong. It should be noted though that these supplements are not closely monitored by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which has led many experts to call the supplements unsafe.
