In recent mesothelioma news, Clemco Industries, Chevron USA and other companies were hit with a wrongful death asbestos exposure lawsuit by a Louisiana woman.

The grieving widow claims that as direct result of the asbestos exposure of her deceased husband while on the job, he developed a rare form of asbestos lung cancer and ultimately succumbed to the condition.

Plaintiff Rose W. filed the asbestos exposure lawsuit on Jan. 20 in a Louisiana federal court against Clemco Industries Corp. This set of defendants includes Chevron USA Inc. and several major insurance companies, all of which are being accused of attributing to the late Garland W.

According to the asbestos exposure lawsuit, Garland worked for Clemco Industries from 1962 to 1972 as a sandblaster and paint sprayer. Rose further alleges that her husband was exposed to asbestos on a daily basis during his employment, and that Clemco had failed to warn Garland or provide any protective equipment against the asbestos exposure.

With the mesothelioma life expectancy being less than two years, many mesothelioma patients have limited treatment options. Due to the complications of this asbestos disease, Garland died on Jan. 21, 2015 at age 70.
