A Ford class action lawsuit says the auto manufacturer knew its braking systems were defective but still sold the car components regardless.

The driver who filed the Ford class action lawsuit says that not only was it dangerous for him to get behind the wheel with defective brakes in his vehicle but he also had to cover the repair costs when those brakes inevitably caused an issue.

The plaintiff in the proposed Ford class action lawsuit Roy Naasz alleges that he experienced unexpected brake failure in September 2018 when he tried to use them on an off-ramp. He says he then took his 2015 Ford F-150 to an area dealership in California to investigate the problem.

Naasz claims in the Ford class action lawsuit that the dealership determined that there were no leaks affecting the brake calipers or the brake lines and that brake fluid was inside his brake booster.

At that time, according to the Ford brakes class action lawsuit, the dealership replaced the brake booster and master cylinder.

These repairs exceeded the warranty period available on the truck, so the plaintiff was responsible for covering more than $1,000 in costs, according to the Ford class action.

The plaintiff argues that this fix not only cost him personally but that the same defective brake system was added back into his truck, so he will continue to face the risk of brake failure.

The Ford braking system class action lawsuit says that the particular defect in question is a master cylinder that has a defective sealing mechanism that is supposed to stop brake fluid leaks that could damage the brake booster.

The Ford class action lawsuit claims that this sealing mechanism doesn’t work and can begin to fail within 36,000 miles after purchase.

The class action lawsuit against Ford says that the car maker knew about the problems because they previously recalled the 2013 and 2014 model years as a result of the brake failure. The plaintiff, however, argues that those models from 2013 to 2018 are also affected by the braking system defect.

The Ford class action lawsuit was filed because Naasz and proposed Class Members reportedly had to pay out-of-pocket for their repairs when the car’s parts fell outside the recall years or warranty period.

Several complaints filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration detail people who have come dangerously close to severe injuries because of the Ford brake failure.

The Ford braking class action lawsuit says that in addition to being responsible for the faulty product in the first place, Ford concealed the problem after they discovered it in 2011 and continued to sell the vehicles without making customers aware of the dangers.

The plaintiff and proposed Class are represented by Sharon S. Almonrode, Dennis A. Lienhardt, and E. Powell Miller of the Miller Law Firm; Mark P. Chalos, Jonathan D. Selbin, Evan J. Ballan and Annika K. Martin of Lief Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein LLP and Patrick Newsom of Bruno Newsom PLLC.

The Ford Braking System Class Action Lawsuit is Roy Naasz v. Ford Motor Co., Case No. 2:18-cv-13165, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Eastern Michigan.

My 201 ford edge developed brake issues. I could still brake but pedal went all the way to the floor before stopping. Was told by deal or it was the power assist module & it was replaced under a recall now it has failed again. This time they replaced the module but it is incompatible with the computer. Car is undrivable. Car has been with the dealer for 5 weeks now since the part (computer) is backordered. I submitted a claim with ford since I feel I shouldn’t have to pay for a new computer since it wasn’t the problem. They wouldn’t commit & Im still waiting on a determination and the back-ordered part

2014 lincoln mkzhybrid failed to work slammed into truck at intersection causing sevete damsge to my car. Want to sue to have car fixed back the way it was. That car means everything to my wife. All she does is sit and cry because she dorsnt know what to do. What can you do when you push on the brakes and nothing happens? She could see that all I suffered from was a busted lip from the air bag. Please someone help advise us as to what to do. I have never had a wreck before and at the time I did not have insurance. I just want the car fixed.

Our 2011 Ford Edge SEL had brake failure multiple times and we had to have the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) replaced, which cost nearly $1000. When is a class action lawsuit against Ford going to be filed, since they will not warranty a known dangerous defect?

Just got my 2011 Edge back after brakes failed. Took it into local dealer who replaced the brake booster. Since there was a recall, there was no cost to me. However brakes still didn’t work as expected. Took it back again and they told me they needed to replace the abs system. After spending over $1,000.00, I have the Edge back. The car stops, but the brakes are not reacting as expected. They informed me that the system is working as expected, but I’m still concerned with braking!

We bought this from our dealer Les Stumph Ford, used,2years ago trusted them, not anymore! We could of been killed or worse yet 1 of our great grandchildren. Now we’re sitting with a car we can’t fix(bumper 2 bumper warranty won’t cover).and cant drive. Why because dealer and Ford won’t fix!
