Consumers who participated in a class action settlement over the marketing of Bayer combination aspirin products are reporting to Top Class Actions that they received checks in the mail Friday totaling $6 to $10.
The Bayer combination aspirin settlement resolves a consolidated class action lawsuit called In re: Bayer Corp. Combination Aspirin Products Marketing & Sales Practices Litigation that alleged Bayer violated various laws in its sale and marketing of Bayer Women’s Low-Dose Aspirin Plus Calcium and Bayer Aspirin with Heart Advantage. Plaintiffs claimed that these product shouldn’t have been sold because they weren’t FDA-approved, they didn’t provide the advertised health benefits, and because they were inappropriate for long-term use. As a result of Bayer’s alleged conduct, consumers were overcharged for the combination aspirin products, the class action lawsuit asserts.
Bayer denied any wrongdoing but agreed to a $15 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve the litigation. A federal judge granted final approval to the deal on April 11, 2013.
Class Members of the Bayer combination aspirin settlement included all U.S. consumers who purchased Bayer Aspirin with Heart Advantage between Jan. 1, 2008 and July 20, 2012 and Bayer Women’s Low-Dose Aspirin Plus Calcium between Jan. 1, 2000 and July 20, 2012.
Class Members had until April 29, 2013 to file a claim to receive between $4 and $10 from the class action settlement.

I never did get paid.
I don’t think I got paid for the Bayer settlement.
I cannot recall ever purchasing either of the products listed. I cannot recall ever buying any asprin or any other pain killers for that matter. It’s just nothing I EVER BUY. I had an out patient surgery last year and the only other hospitalization prior to that was in the military in the 90s. Neither of those visits list these meds either. I asked some friends in banking and they suggested, as i had already suspected, that it looks like a scam. Again, my household has never purchased any bayer aspirin items, nor to the best of my knowledge and medical documentation was I ever administered these products. I recieved a \check\ for $18 and tossed it in the trash.
I suspect as well..I received a check for 36.00 and,I never filed or heart of this lawsuit til today…
I received a $6.00 check. I agree with above, it is suspicious. I would rather keep my bank information safe. I never signed up for a settlement.. and yes, there is no spot for signature, just a block for address information. I will not cash it. Too weird.
My husband and I both got checks today. Mine for 8.00 and his for 6.00. Reading this thread, I still can’t determine if it is legit or not. I never submitted anything. Can anyone clarify this???
Anyone know if this is real or fake? I just got a check today in the mail for $6
I received a check for $52.00–a lot more than the stated cap of $10. I also never signed up for this. Check has been gathering dust…like others, not sure whether to risk my account information. Is this legit? How does one find out?
My 85-year-old mom got a check (in the form of a postcard) for $54.00! She is asking me whether it is legit or not. Like all of you, she never signed up for the class action suit. She buys most of her OTC meds at CVS, and I am thinking that that’s where Bayer got the info about what she purchased. Everything that you purchase at CVS is recorded on your receipt and in their database. I am going to tell her to cash it because I do think it is legit.
Got my $12 check and was afraid to cash it, thought it was a spam or something.
