Blood test

A Class has been certified in a class action lawsuit that accuses Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics Inc. and Immucor Inc. of conspiring to fix the prices of traditional blood reagents in violation of federal antitrust law. If you purchased traditional blood reagents from Ortho-Clinical or Immucor between Nov. 4, 2000 and Oct. 19, 2015, your rights may be affected by this class action lawsuit.

Blood reagents are products that are able to test, detect, match, screen, diagnose and/or identify certain properties of human blood. Traditional blood reagents are primarily used to manually test blood in test tubes.

According to the antitrust class action lawsuit, the alleged conspiracy between Immucor and Ortho-Clinical caused individuals and entities to pay artificially inflated prices for traditional blood reagents.

The defendants deny any wrongdoing and maintain that their conduct was not unlawful.

In 2012, Immucor agreed to settle the antitrust class action lawsuit. The $22 million Immucor class action settlement was given final approval and Immucor was dismissed as a defendant from the litigation in September 2012.

The antitrust claims against Ortho-Clinical are still pending. A trial against Ortho-Clinical has not yet been scheduled.

To exclude yourself from the Ortho-Clinical class action settlement, you must submit an exclusion request to the Settlement Administrator, postmarked no later than April 6, 2016.
