A Pennsylvania husband and wife recently filed a car accident lawsuit against a driver they allege negligently crashed his vehicle and caused serious injuries.

The plaintiffs, Christine and Donald S., allege they were driving on Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania on Aug. 5, 2017, when they allege that another driver, Frank L., traveling in the opposite direction suddenly veered across the passing lane and crashed into the median embankment, sending rocks flying. One of the rocks flung into the air traveled through the windshield of the plaintiffs’ vehicle, hitting Christine in the face and allegedly causing permanent head and facial injuries. This forms the basis of the car accident lawsuit.

Instead of stopping to help in the aftermath of the accident he caused, Frank allegedly got out of his car and fled the scene. Police quickly became involved, and discovered alcoholic beverages (including an open one) in the front seat of Frank’s vehicle.

According to the car accident lawsuit, the crash and subsequent injuries were the direct result of Frank’s negligent actions. On top of the serious and permanent head and facial injuries, Christine and her husband have also felt the effects of major medical expenses and other financial losses as a result of the car accident.

Christine and Donald’s lawsuit adds to the ever-growing pile of personal injury claims filed over car accidents and other negligence claims.

Personal Injury Lawsuits

If you or a loved one has been injured in a car accident because of someone else’s negligence, a car accident lawsuit may be your next step. Of course, pursuing litigation can’t undo the physical damage caused by a car accident or bring a loved one back to life, but it can help provide some kind of financial compensation, as well as hold those responsible accountable for their actions. In fact, personal injury lawsuits like this one are built on an incident being caused by the negligence of one or more parties. Essentially, negligence is the failure to exercise proper care expected of a reasonable person.

Personal injury litigation can involve a number of negligence claims, like car accidents, birth injuries, dog bites, medical malpractice, slip and falls, and work injuries, among others.

Filing a Car Accident Lawsuit

If you or someone you love has suffered a personal injury as the result of someone else’s negligence, you may be able to pursue litigation and seek compensation. Compensation recovered from a personal injury lawsuit can help with medical bills, lost income, property damage, and more.

While filing a lawsuit over personal injury can’t undo the physical harm caused by a car accident or other personal injury incident, it can at least help with the financial costs so often incurred by medical expenses and lost wages.

The Car Accident Lawsuit is Case No. 3:18-cv-01795-ARC, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
