Amazon recalls ice makers, kids weighted blankets, sodium hydroxide
Amazon issued product recalls for three items sold exclusively on Amazon.com.ย
The recall affects approximately 8,800 Gevi Household Countertop Nugget Ice Makers, 570 2-pound bags of Crystal Clear Sodium Hydroxide and 280 YourHealthToolkit 5-pound childrenโs weighted blankets.
According to the recall notice, the ice makerโs metal auger blades can break, potentially contaminating the ice bucket with small metal pieces. Additionally, the sodium hydroxide lacks child-resistant packaging, and the weighted blankets can entrap young children if unzipped, posing an asphyxiation hazard.
Consumers should stop using these products immediately and contact the respective companies for free replacements.ย
Little Sleepies bibs recalled due to potential choking hazard
Little Sleepies issued a recall for its Sleepyhead Loveys and Bandana Bibs due to concerns that the care instruction label may detach, potentially creating a choking hazard for young children.ย
This recall encompasses approximately 450,000 Sleepyhead Loveys and Bandana Bibs sold in the United States, as well as about 3,331 items distributed in Canada.
Little Sleepies says it received two reports of the care instruction labels detaching from the recalled baby bibs but no injuries. Consumers should stop using the Little Sleepies Sleepyhead Loveys and Bandana Bibs immediately, the recall notice states. They should also either remove the care instruction label from the product or return the items to the company for a full refund.
These products were available for purchase on Little Sleepiesโ website and in various boutique stores across the country from Feb. 2021 to Sept. 2023, with prices ranging from $12 to $48.ย
Kula Brands recalls Pina Colada + Kratom Seltzer due to allergen risk
Kula Brands issued a recall for its 12-ounce cans of Pina Colada + Kratom Seltzer due to the presence of undeclared milk and tree nuts (coconut).ย
This poses a potential health risk for individuals with allergies to these ingredients, especially if they are unaware of their presence due to the absence of proper labeling, according to the recall notice. The company warns consuming this product can lead to severe or life-threatening allergic reactions in allergic individuals.ย
The affected cans have a UPC code of 371334085880 and lot no. U17831532PNCL. Kula Brands attributes this labeling issue to a temporary breakdown in their production and packaging processes, according to the recall notice.
While there have been no reported illnesses related to the recall, Kula Brands encourages consumers to return the seltzer cans to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Chrysler announces Ram recall due to rearview camera issue
Chrysler issued a product recall for specific 2022-2024 Ram trucks due to a radio interference problem that results in the rearview camera failing to display an image. The affected vehicles include certain 2022-2023 Ram 1500, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a GVWR of less than 10,000 pounds and 2022-2024 Ram 2500 models.ย
Chrysler will send owner notification letters Nov. 17, and authorized dealers will perform the necessary radio software repair at no cost. While there have been no reported injuries related to the recall, the lack of a functioning rearview camera increases the risk of accidents.
Consumers can contact FCA US (Chrysler) customer service at (800) 853-1403. Additionally, owners can reach out to the NHTSA vehicle safety hotline at (888) 327-4236.
