SunFed Produce issued a recall for whole cucumbers in November over salmonella concerns that directly led to recalls initiated by Baloian Farms, Russ Davis Wholesale and Fresh Creative Foods.
Grimmway Farms, meanwhile, initiated a recall in mid-November for organic whole carrots amid a multistate E. coli outbreak. The Grimmway farms recall directly led to recalls by 4Earth Farms and F&S Fresh Foods.
SunFed Produce recalls whole cucumbers over salmonella concerns
SunFed Produce issued a recall in late November for all sizes of its whole cucumbers sold between Oct. 12, 2024, and Nov. 26, 2024, over concerns they may be contaminated with salmonella.
The recall involves whole cucumbers sold by SunFed and other importers to customers in 26 states and multiple Canadian provinces, according to the notice.
SunFed initiated the recall after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration informed it the cucumbers were linked to salmonella-related illnesses between Oct. 12, 2024, and Nov. 15, 2024.
Baloian Farms issues cucumber recall following SunFed Produce recall
Baloian Farms of Arizona issued a recall for all sizes of its whole fresh American cucumbers in November over concerns they may be contaminated with salmonella in connection with the SunFed Produce recall.
The recall involves cucumbers packaged in bulk cardboard containers with the brand name Pamela and sold between Oct. 12, 2024, and Nov. 26, 2024, to customers in 18 U.S. states and the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.
Baloian Farms says it sold the recalled cucumbers to consumers via retail and foodservice outlets, according to the recall notice.
Russ Davis Wholesale, meanwhile, issued its own recall Dec. 1 after discovering it processed and distributed the recalled Baloian Farms cucumbers.
The Russ Davis recall involves several cucumber products packaged under the brand name Crazy Fresh, Kowalski’s Markets and quick & easy and distributed to foodservice and retail customers in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Gyro kits recalled over salmonella contamination concerns
Fresh Creative Foods issued a recall for a gyro meal kit over concerns the product contains cucumbers that may be contaminated with salmonella in connection with the Baloian Farms recall.
The recall involves Beef & Lamb Gyro Sandwich Express Meal Kits with use-by dates between Dec. 24, 2024, and Jan. 6, 2025, and distributed to Sam’s Club warehouses nationwide.
Consumers who purchased the product should not consume it and should discard it and visit any Sam’s Club to receive a full refund, the recall notice states
Grimmway Farms recalls organic whole carrots amid multistate E. coli outbreak
Grimmway Farms issued a recall in mid-November for organic whole carrots and organic baby carrots over concerns they may be contaminated with E. coli amid a multistate outbreak.
The recall involves select organic whole carrots and organic baby carrots sold over the last four months under a variety of brand names, including Bunny Luv, Cal-Organic, Good & Gather, 365, Full Circle and Marketside, among multiple others.
The FDA says the E. coli outbreak is connected to 39 illnesses, 15 hospitalizations and one death as of Nov. 22, according to the recall notice.
4Earth recalls vegetable medleys, organic whole carrots over E. coli concerns
California-based 4Earth Farms issued a recall for some of its vegetable medleys and organic whole carrots last month over concerns they may be contaminated with E. coli in connection with the Grimmway Farms recall.
The recall involves Organic Vegetable Medley, Vegetable Medley, Stir Fry Medley and Organic Whole Carrots sold under the brand names Wild Harvest, Marketside, 4Earth Farms and Grimmway with best-by dates of Sept. 7, 2024, through Nov. 2, 2024.
4Earth distributed the recalled products to Albert’s Organics, Walmart, O.K. Produce, UNFI, Kennedy Produce and Sprouts Farmers Market in California, Colorado, Florida, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Illinois and New Hampshire, the recall notice states.
F&S Fresh Foods recalls Whole Foods organic carrots, celery
F&S Fresh Foods issued a recall last month for some of its Whole Foods Market-brand organic carrots and celery over concerns they may be contaminated with E. coli in connection with the Grimmway Farms recall.
The F&S Fresh Foods recall involves Whole Foods Market 15-ounce Organic Carrot Sticks and Whole Foods Market 15-ounce Organic Carrots & Celery with best-by dates of Sept. 1-Oct. 19, 2024.
F&S Fresh Foods sold the recalled organic carrots and celery at Whole Foods Market stores in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho and Nevada.
