Husqvarna recalled more than 7,000 snow blowers in the United States and Canada as they can go into drive mode unexpectedly on their own.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website published the recall July 6. It applies to Husqvarna-branded gas-powered residential 300 Series Snow Blowers with model numbers ST 324, ST 327 and ST 330.

About 2,700 of the snow blowers were sold in the United States and about 4,400 were sold in Canada.

According to the recall notice, if the 300 series snow blowers unexpectedly go into drive mode, they can collide with a consumer, posing an injury hazard.

Husqvarna received 22 reports where the auger pulley bolt loosened and the drive unexpectedly engaged, the recall notice states. No injuries have been reported so far.

The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

Immediately stop using Husqvarna snow blowers, recall notice says

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled snow blowers and contact an authorized Husqvarna Professional Products dealer for a free repair, the recall notice says.

The blowers are orange and black with the Husqvarna logo painted on the front plastic cover. The product is about 46 inches tall, 54 inches deep and 24 to 30 inches wide, depending on the model.

Husqvarna sold the product at authorized Husqvarna dealers and various hardware stores nationwide and online at husqvarna.com from July 2022 to Feb. 2023 for between $1,350 and $1,800.

In other Husqvarna news, last year, the company recalled 1,400 of its Automower 435X and 535 All-Wheel Drive Robotic Lawnmowers as their lithium-ion batteries can overheat, posing a risk of fire.
