On Dec. 11, Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association (MDVA) announced a recall of one lot of its Howling Cow Butter Almond Ice Cream Pints because they contain undeclared soy and wheat, which may pose a significant health risk to certain individuals with allergies or sensitivities to these ingredients.
MDVA reportedly learned about the issue when consumers notified them that the Howling Cow Butter Almond Ice Cream contained Cookie Dough Ice Cream, which contains soy and wheat. However, the label reportedly did not disclose that the ice cream product contained soy and wheat.
People with allergies or severe sensitivities to soy or wheat may be at risk of developing a serious or potentially life-threatening reaction if they consume the recalled Howling Cow Butter Almond Ice Cream products.
No illnesses have been reported as of the recall date, according to MDVA.
Which Products Are Affected by the Howling Call Recall?
The Howling Cow Butter Almond Ice Cream pints affected by the recall are stamped with a Sell By date of Sept. 15, 2022, and UPC 0 74336 65079 6.
MDVA says it produced 8,040 pints of the Howling Cow Butter Almond Ice Cream on Sept. 15 and began distributing them on Sept. 24.
The recalled products were reportedly sold in Harris Teeter stores in North Carolina and South Carolina. Retailers are advised to immediately cease distribution and sale of the recalled products.

I have purchased Howling Cow Ice Cream in the past. I do have an allergy to Soy but slightly , usually itching and some redness if eaten by mistake. I do not feel comfortable eating it again until I know this is taken care of and no longer contains soy… I have purchased it many times.
