  • Why: The automaker initiated the recall over concerns the Honda Civic vehicles were given an incorrectly assembled replacement power steering rack as part of a service repair.
  • Where: The recall affects certain model year 2022-2024 Honda Civic vehicle owners nationwide.

American Honda Motor Co. initiated a recall for more than 176,000 of its 2022-2024 Honda Civic four- and five-door vehicles over concerns they were given an incorrectly assembled replacement power steering rack as part of a service repair.

Honda says it is concerned the replacement steering racks on the recalled Honda Civic vehicles could cause the tire to “chafe against the lower suspension or tie rod end, possibly resulting in tire damage,” according to a recall acknowledgment letter the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration sent to the automaker.

The automaker says a damaged tire could fail and increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Honda expects to mail recall notification letters to affected Honda Civic owners Dec. 4

Honda plans to remedy the issue by having its dealers inspect and replace the electric power steering racks on the recalled Honda Civic vehicles, as necessary and free of charge, and says it expects to mail notification letters to affected vehicle owners on Dec. 4, 2023, according to the recall acknowledgement letter.

The automaker initiated a separate recall earlier this year for less than 400 of its model year 2023 Civic, Accord, Acura RDX and Acura Integra vehicles over concerns they contain a brake hold damaged during production

I would like to be added to whatever suit there is. I have a 2022 Honda Civic hatchback sport. I’ve brought it in eight times since it had 7 mi on it to look at it for repairs because I could tell something was wrong with the front wheels or the transmission with the burning rubber smell I was getting and every time I turned my wheels it would make this grinding noise. I paid out of pocket with a full warranty for them to just look at it to try to find what’s wrong and I’ve had to pay for rental vehicles from them. All eight times they told me nothing was wrong and out of nowhere I find out there’s a recall and the exact area I’m having problems and my VIN specific is on that recall. I spent money and wasted time and lost hours at work trying to find out what was wrong with my car since I had 7 miles on it and I’m at 19,000. I am beyond angry they have wasted my time and my money and when you have a full warranty you shouldn’t have to pay for them to look at something that’s wrong with your car when it’s brand new. They ignored me they told me I didn’t know what it was talking about and that there was nothing wrong with my car and I was making it up. And guess what there is. So I would really like not just the place that I got my Honda from but also Honda corporate to deal with paying for this and giving me all my money back. Because in the two years I’ve had it I’ve almost paid it off. And I don’t want to defective car that has to be fixed and I have other problems on top of this one recall. There’s other issues with this car They just haven’t had enough complaints yet. So if you guys are suing them please add me to that. I even called Honda corporate about it and they said there’s nothing they would do. But now they give me a recall and now they’ll do something after I’ve spent money and time and energy trying to get them to listen to me. I’ve had to travel a lot in that car if it had broken the tie rod and suspension and blew out my tires, which while I’m driving I smell burning rubber all the time which is my tires burning, with the terminal spinal injury I already have, I would die on the spot. I am pretty infuriated.

Starts by itself, goes by itself, data being leaked using the systems WiFi when connected to blue tooth steering all kinds of shit false advertising inflating the prices ! How does a car advertise at the dealer on sale for 23k and my loan guess what … 41k and I put down 9k cash with no credit but a signer who had over 800 credit score! Payments being 426 they are robbing me!

I have a Honda Civic hatchback sport 2022. I have had a weird noise every time I turn, brake or reverse and I’ve brought it in for that and many issues since I bought it in February of 2022. I have a warranty on it and they keep making me pay for it, to look at it and they keep saying nothing is wrong even though they hear the noise. Please add me to this as a primary. I have all the paperwork proof. This isn’t the only issue/issues I’ve been having with it since day 1 of buying it. It’s all documented.
