Chrysler recall overview:
- Who: Chrysler issued a recall on rearview cameras for 272,911 of its 2022-2024 Ram trucks.
- Why: Radio interference prevents the rearview camera on certain Ram trucks from displaying an image.
- Where: The Ram recall is effective across the United States.
Chrysler issued a recall for some of its 2022-2024 Ram trucks due to an issue with radio interference that causes the rearview camera to not display an image.
The issue affects certain 2022-2023 Ram 1500, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with GVWR less than 10,000 pounds and 2022-2024 Ram 2500 vehicles.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued the recall notice.
Chrysler will mail owner notification letters Nov. 17. Dealers will repair the radio software free of charge.
Rearview camera issue increases risk of crash, recall says
Chrysler has not received any reports of injuries related to the recall. The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
The rearview camera issue is a violation of the “Rear Visibility” requirement of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. The lack of a rearview camera image increases the risk of a crash for drivers, the Ram rearview camera recall says.
Consumers can reach FCA US (Chrysler) customer service at (800) 853-1403. Owners also can contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at (888) 327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit nhtsa.gov.
In related Ram news, Chrysler issued a recall in April on 131,700 Ram 1500 pickup trucks manufactured in 2021 due to a powertrain software issue.

9 thoughts onChrysler announces recall for some Ram vehicles due to rearview camera defect
I have a 2017 Dodge Durango that the rearview camera works when it feels like it. It has been replaced three times. Now Phillips Chrysler/Dodge says someone has to pay for the work. When you pay for a vehicle at 60 K and your a disabled veteran. You expect it to work. Where are the days that we made things in this country that lasted. CEO’s found out it was better to make it cheaper so that they can sell more. But they don’t want to be responsible. It is time to hold their feet to the fire. Bring their pay inline with the workers. and bring jobs back to America and make America what it once was. Add me to the list
Add me.
We have a RAM 3500, 2022 truck. For the price of this truck…we should Not have to worry.
I have a similar problem with Hyundai rear camera and getting Sensors for tires. Can someone reach out to me?
This has been happening since my 2014 dodge ram laramie and now to my 2016 dodge ram laramie crew cab.
