Nature’s Energy initiated a recall of three flavors of children’s chewable colostrum as the products may contain an undeclared milk allergen.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) website published the recall May 18. It applies to three flavors of Nature’s Energy 180-count Children’s Chewable Colostrum: Berry, Chocolate and Orange Creamsicle. Consumers can view the product codes and best-buy dates on the FDA’s website

According to the notice, Nature’s Energy initiated the recall after it discovered the products were distributed in packaging that did not indicate the presence of milk proteins.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the recall states.

No illnesses or deaths have been reported to date in connection with the recalled products, the company says. Nature’s Energy is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Consumers can return children’s colostrum for full refund, recall says

Customers with a milk allergy or sensitivity who have purchased the affected product are urged not to consume the product and to dispose of it or return it to their place of purchase for a full refund, Nature’s Energy says.

The company sold Nature’s Energy Children’s Chewable Colostrum products online at naturesenergy.com and amazon.com

Dakota Style Foods recently recalled more than 200 types of pretzels as they may also contain undeclared milk.
