Perrigo glucosamine class action settlement

A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against Walgreen Co., Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Supervalu Inc., and Perrigo Company of South Carolina Inc., alleging that certain statements on the packaging of some of their glucosamine supplements were false, deceptive and/or misleading. If you purchased certain glucosamine products between Nov. 1, 2005 and Aug. 1, 2014, you could be eligible for compensation from the Perrigo class action settlement.

Specifically, the Perrigo class action lawsuit alleges that products containing glucosamine and/or chondroitin were represented as formulated to help “rebuild cartilage,” “lubricate joints,” and “improve joint comfort” when they do not actually provide these benefits. The plaintiffs claim that these representations are unlawful under the consumer protection laws and that the purchasers of these products are entitled to compensation.

The defendants deny the allegations but agreed to settle the glucosamine class action lawsuit to avoid the risk, expense and distraction of continued litigation.

Who’s Eligible

Class Members of the Perrigo glucosamine class action settlement include all U.S. residents who purchased for personal use, and not resale or distribution, a Covered Product between Nov. 1, 2005 and Aug. 1, 2014. A list of Covered Products is available here.

Potential Award

$12 per bottle, up to a maximum of eight bottles per household, to Class Members who do not submit proof of purchase.

Class Members who submit valid Claim Forms accompanied by a cash register receipt evidencing their purchase of a Covered Product manufactured by Perrigo and/or its affiliates will be entitled to receive a full refund for the actual price of each product purchased.

The actual amount each Class Member will receive depends on the total number of valid claims submitted, and may be adjusted up or down in order to fully distribute the class action settlement funds to all Class Members who submit valid claims.

Proof of Purchase

None required. However, Class Members who do not provide proof of purchase will be limited to an award of $12 per bottle, up to a maximum of eight bottles per household. Class Members who submit receipts with their Claim Forms may be entitled to full refunds of all Covered Products purchased.

To Peter Pan, I actual did take the Glucosamine due to spinal spondylosis and other bone problems, I have shrunk 2 1/2 inches in the past 2 years if that tells you anything of how the condition of my spine. We only had one pharmacy in our town at the time Walgreens! So please don’t assume that I am filing a false claim! I was and am doing anything and everything to stop the pain and deterioration of my spine! So please think before you speak. Thank you.

    1. Peter Pan says:

Double Duh, what are you writing about? Your 1st comment had to do with not getting a payment in this lawsuit. I did not assume anything, DUH….your writing is very hard to understand….what are you talking about…DUH

      1. emeraldeyes1940@gmail.com says:

The last time I heard so many Duhs? was when my children in the 80s went through a DUH stage imitating someone on TV, lol. Grow up and act your age or go back to school and finish your education so you can carry on an intelligent conversation. Its really not becoming. For my writing not being understandable I believe it is quit understandable, if you have a college degree you to can understand the English language, DUH is not part of it as far as I know. Its an insult for a US citizen to lower him or herself to such poor standards of the language that they were born to speak. People come to this country and not only master their language but also ours, and you walk around going duh, duh at everything someone says instead of using your mind and giving a decent thought from your mind, what a shame!

received a postcard saying claim was rejected, due to more than one household address

    1. jennell says:

same post card I received today in the mail too many people in same household REJECTED

  7. jonny says:

Wow.. You Americans must be living paycheck to paycheck, huh? All of this fuss and anger over $12-96???? I wonder what will happen if you dont receive this check. I guess you will have to declare bankruptcy…You wouldnt have this problem if you stop spending your money on Black Friday, buying the latest iphones or buying designer clothing or jewelry with money you dont have.. If you think you are in financial trouble now, wait till this September or early October. The next crash will make 2008 and the crash of 1929 look like a kindergarten.. Just you wait, American sheeple..

    1. Ralph Pierre says:

Why would someone like you even be concerned with this web site…youre an imposter, some fake ass rich (not likely)jerk, who needs $12-96 just like the rest of us…….you would be reading the Wall Street Journal if you didnt. Hold onto your ass this fall, the stock market is gonna crash. You belittle people, us Americans, because you still have to use your hand to wipe your butt…ha ha, $12 buys a bunch of TP.

      1. ricky says:

LOL… The reason I am here is because I saw a thread about this on a car forum, so I clicked it. With so many unemployed and bankrupted people on here already, I HIGHLY doubt anyone is going to get $12-96…. Hell, I dont even see how $12-96 will help you guys.. You are most likely going to buy a $500 TV with that money. You will pay $12-96 in cash, and then the rest on credit card (money you dont have). And you idiots wonder why you are thousands of dollars in credit card debt… If you thought 2008 was bad, wait till THIS September…. It will make 2008 look like a dress rehearsal… Mark my words…….

  8. alley says:

Hopefully we all will see checks soon and not have to worry about was some people are dreaming up. Good luck all.

No one is going to see a dime, I read all of the court papers and the lawyers did an injunction preventing anyone from filing claims, so all claims are being thrown out from what I understand as being false. And they are just paying the original claimants. They sited several cases were they had a bunch of false claimants and used that to state to the judge that it would take to much time for them to go through all claiments and prove whether they were honest or not?? So they are saying everyone is lying!!! That is what I got from it and if you wanted to fight it you had to do it before the case was closed because ou had to prove you were a true claimant. So everyone who gets in touch with them gets a post cart or letter saying you are filing a false report. That is what I got from reading everything?????
