A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging Paradise Showgirls Club in City of Industry, Calif. wrongfully required dancers to share their tips in violation of California law. If you danced at Paradise Showgirls Club between May 17, 2006 and May 26, 2015, you are entitled to a payment of $20 per day for each day you danced.
If approved, this Paradise Showgirls class action settlement will resolve allegations that the club wrongfully required dancers to share money that they received directly from customers. The class action lawsuit asserted that this tip-sharing policy is a violation of California law, which prohibits clubs from requiring their dancers to share money they receive as tips from customers.
The Paradise Showgirls class action lawsuit was initially filed in May 2010 by plaintiff Quinece Hills. She asserted several causes of action against the Paradise Showgirls Club, including: failure to pay minimum wage or legal overtime; unlawful imposition of penalties; illegal tip collection; uniforms reimbursement; failure to provide rest and meal periods; and other violations of California law.
The defendant denies any wrongdoing. The class action lawsuit went to trial, and in April 2015, a jury found that Paradise Showgirls unlawfully required dancers to share their tips with the club. The jury entered judgment of more than $6.5 million against the defendant.
Although the defendant has appealed the verdict, the appeal has been stayed. The parties entered into mediation and reached a proposed class action settlement that will ensure the dancers will actually receive money, and that their money would be paid in a reasonable amount of time. Under the terms of this class action settlement, the defendant will pay $3.025 million to resolve the litigation.

What’s the website?
bump
So the website is down as previously mentioned. I was going to try to read the final decree by the judge. If either stephanie’s company or meghan’s company are in violation the judge/court would want to hear about it. But I can’t find the final approval. Might save an email or letter of complaint to the California Attorney General?
Also Paradise might be considering bankruptcy as a method for not paying the money?
just some thoughts.
I have called and emailed Stephanie. No response. Emailed the general email. No response. I left a message at the attorneys office. No response. Not sure how to proceed.
This is becoming very concerning. I have called and left messages but no one is returning my calls. Stephanie is always away from her desk.
I would try and contact the judge over the class action. They should be able to get something done.
Does anybody have an email for Stephanie?
I would like the email as well…this is bs..they were so fast to respond to emails and phone calls prior to court but now all the sudden they can’t even answer our calls or at least give us an answer! It’s such bs
Heres Stephanie’s email address
stephanie@ilymgroupclassaction.com
and I think
this is ILYM Groups mail email address
claims@ilymgroupclassaction.com
I’m going to call Californias attorney general on Monday.
What did the attorney general say?
I can file a complaint but they wouldn’t be able to tell me the outcome. I talked to Stephanie 2 days ago. She told me that it’s not her fault. She said the attorney (Knapp Peterson & Clarke) that are the reason we haven’t gotten our money. She’s waiting for them to give her the ok.
That’s what she told me. I don’t know if it’s the truth.
Because when I talked to Megan (from the law firm) she blamed Stephanie.
interesting as when I call the number to talk to someone, its a phone tree and I can’t get a real person on the line. I leave a message on the generic message board and never get a call back. I have written an email every day and no response.
Dies anyone know who we can contact about the fraud that appears to be happening with this lawsuit? I should be getting a check. So far nothing. No even a letter saying they received my claim.
I finally received my check today after calling literally every single day for a month. Yayyyyy! Just be persistent!!!!
Thats great. I hope I get mine. I sent an email tonight.
What number did you get Stephanie on?
Did you get the amount you was supposed to get? Just wondering how much they are going to cut our amount’s….It seems to me that they are going to keep what they don’t pay us. Either way they are earning interest on our money by keeping it in the bank.
we are supposed to get the ammout that was on the claim form.
The lawyers took more then half of the 6 million dollars for themselves.
they (and the claims administrator) have already been paid.
It’s seems like Now that the case is closed they are really trying to screw us over. The court order doesn’t say they can hold our money.
I keep calling the courthouse but haven’t been able to get through. I don’t know what department to choose in a automated system
Did you get an email?
I read the court order. The claims administrator Stephanie said some girls got paid. I was told the checks were to be mailed in October then I was told they were mailing more in November & the rest in December. Here it is January and she says that she needs to compare Paradise’s records (witch there aren’t any). We were all already supposed to be paid. I think they are trying to keep our checks if they haven’t already the the has been closed since September. We were supposed to be paid already.
What makes you think they dont have records? How will they do this fairly then?
It says in the court order that they will have to go by the statements that we sighed and sent back. That’s why they neede them back in August, so they could be presented as evidence to the court in September at the final fairness hearing.
Something seems very odd and suspicious about this claim adjustor . I’m never able to get ahold of her and my emails and voice mails go unanswered. The few times we’ve spoke she states the checks were mailed out already . I wait a few a days , nothing comes , call her back and she assures me that that it’s going to be sent out by the end of the day . Im getting the runaround This is a whole bunch of bs. Is this ILYM Group even a legit company? I feel as though I’ve been scammed. Who would I contact to report them?
I too am getting the run around. I noticed they were handling another strip club in the Los Angeles area that I never worked for. I haven’t seen any check and my calls go unanswered. Could they be keeping our money? I am wondering if they pocketed out small portions for themselves.
I agree too that Something seems very odd and suspicious about this claim adjustor. When I talked to the attorney about what is going on and why is it taking so long, she couldn’t give me an answer (no one that made any sense)
She told me back in September that we would get paid in October,
Then in October, she said the last round of checks are going out in December.
I feel like I’m dealing with a used car sales person. My gut tells me they are both snakes.
Still I’m not going to just let them to give me the run around thinking I will give up and let them keep my claim.
