Lumber Liquidators has agreed to pay $36 million to settle multidistrict litigation involving allegations that some of its Chinese-made laminate flooring contained excessive levels of formaldehyde and that its flooring was not as durable as the company promised.
If you purchased Chinese-made laminate flooring sold by Lumber Liquidators between Jan. 1, 2009 and May 31, 2015, you may be entitled to benefits from the laminate flooring class action settlement.
The proposed Lumber Liquidators settlement will resolve two lawsuits, one of which alleged the Chinese-manufactured laminate flooring contained excessive formaldehyde levels and the other alleging the flooring failed to meet the industry standards for durability and scratch-resistance.
The plaintiffs claim that Chinese-made laminate flooring sold by Lumber Liquidators contained a dangerously high level of formaldehyde that made it unsuitable for use in a residence. They also claim that the flooring failed to properly adhere to the surface to which it was applied, causing it to buckle.
Lumber Liquidators was hit with more than 100 lawsuits following a March 2015 broadcast of “60 Minutes” that revealed Chinese-made laminate flooring sold by Lumber Liquidators allegedly contained six to seven times the amount of formaldehyde allowed under U.S. law.
Formaldehyde is a carcinogen, and exposure to the substance can cause headaches, nausea, and/or irritation of the eyes, nose and throat.
Lumber Liquidators denies the allegations but agreed to settle the laminate flooring class action lawsuit to avoid the expense and uncertainty of litigation.
The Lumber Liquidators laminate flooring settlement received preliminary approval in June 2018.
Class Members who would like to opt out of or object to the Lumber Liquidators settlement must do so no later than Sept. 4, 2018.

I was told we would have a check before the end of July. Where is the check?
Once again, screwed by the corporate greed, and the almighty dollar. If we ever see a penny of that money, it will be a miracle.
Amazing, The lawyers who does not have the flooring in their house and does not have the potential health hazard that can be caused by this product stand to gain the most. And yet we still don’t have any clue as to when the settlement will reach the customers.
We got screwed. The lawyers settled for an amount that was not sufficient for what we were owed.
They still will get all of their money but want to give us 50.00. We were supposed to get 50% of what amount we paid to Lumber Liquidators. NOT ENOUGH MONEY TO GO AROUND!! THE LAWYERS GET THEIR MONEY FIRST. We will not see it!!!! We should file a class action against the Law Firm and Lumber Liquidators.
Let me know if you this moves forward
When I first heard about the flooring issues, I contacted Lumber Liquidations and they said my floor was not defected and then when I research floor that were questioned, my floor was on list. Is it to late to have it tested???? I also received a post card about the settlement and whether I wanted a refunded amount or a store voucher, which I chose and I haven’t heard back from anyone.
I just want to find out when is the settlement gonna be sent out because my floor looks horrible and I’m ready to get it redone,I just want to hear something in regards to this situation
We have that flooring installed in our home. We notified LL and they sent us a test kit. We were to wait until further notice. Are we part of this settlement or did we get left in the confusion?
I would like to know when my money will be sent out
Any updates?
It’s been a very long time since anyone has updated. I was wondering the same
