UPDATE: The Lumber Liquidators Class Action Settlement was granted final approval on October 22, 2020. Let Top Class Actions know when you receive a check in the comments section below or on our Facebook page.
Lumber Liquidators has agreed to pay up to $30 million to resolve claims that their bamboo flooring is defective and prone to damage.
The settlement will benefit Class Member consumers who purchased Lumber Liquidators Morning Star Strand Bamboo flooring between Jan. 1, 2012 and March 15, 2019.
Plaintiffs filed their Lumber Liquidators class action lawsuit in December 2014, alleging that the company sold defective Morning Star Bamboo flooring products. According to the class action, the flooring was prone to damage such as warping, splitting, shrinking and splintering.
The flooring provider reportedly refused to take responsibility for the defective products. Instead, the damage was allegedly blamed on the plaintiffs and the flooring installer. Consumers were forced to pay for repairing or replacing the defective bamboo flooring, according to the plaintiffs.
Lumber Liquidators has not admitted to any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the claims against them. The settlement includes $14 million in cash, $14 million in-store vouchers and an additional $2 million in vouchers to be provided if a seven percent claim rate is reached.
Eligible consumers can receive a pro rata award from the settlement, although exact amounts will depend on the flooring purchase price.
If consumers are experiencing warping, cupping, buckling, scratching, cracking, delaminating, splintering, deteriorating or gapping with their flooring, they may be eligible for additional payments to cover repair costs. Photographs of damage, contractor’s bids and other documentation may be required for additional payments.
In order to benefit from the settlement, Class Members need to file a valid claim form by July 15, 2020. The deadline for exclusion is March 2, 2020. The deadline for objection is May 21, 2020. The final approval hearing for the Lumber Liquidators settlement is scheduled for Sept. 24, 2020.

Hopefully the lawyers had a great Christmas. I haven’t heard anything from them since I filled the claim. One thing for sure, I will forever opt out of any future class action suits. Only the crooked lawyers got enough to make it worth while. They will never use my name again.
I called them with plenty of time when I moved so they send me the voucher / check to my new address and they did send it to a wrong address. Have called several times and no one is giving me information on my 900 US voucher. I guess my name was used for the law suit and no interest in resolving the receipt for my voucher.
I GOT A CHECK FOR 2111.06 THANKS
Received check for $836.93 (purchased over $6k worth of flooring) and a voucher for $23.40.
I have not received a voucher as of yet. Any way to check to see if has been mailed?
Have not received anything and my floor is literally buckling and separating before my eyes. Its bad when my 8 year old comes and tells me “mom you better get a new floor cuz its bumpy all over”. Does anyone know how many of us there were that had claims? $30 million could have gotten most of us a new floor I suspect. The horrible thing is now we can’t even make Lumber Liq. Responsible for the warranty. I think most of us would have come out better had we put in a claim on our warranty. I wish I had called LL to ask. Sad, we just made a few lawyers very rich.
What a joke. Got my voucher for $243.73 and a check for $719.84. Spent over $6000 just for the flooring not including the labor. Pitiful. Like I am really going to spend more money at LL.
We spent $3600 on flooring. Today we received a check for $191.00. Total BS
$12xx.00
We have not been notified at all about our settlement. Is there someplace I should contact rather than here?
