Lumber Liquidators has agreed to pay up to $30 million to resolve claims that their bamboo flooring is defective and prone to damage.
The settlement will benefit Class Member consumers who purchased Lumber Liquidators Morning Star Strand Bamboo flooring between Jan. 1, 2012 and March 15, 2019.
Plaintiffs filed their Lumber Liquidators class action lawsuit in December 2014, alleging that the company sold defective Morning Star Bamboo flooring products. According to the class action, the flooring was prone to damage such as warping, splitting, shrinking and splintering.
The flooring provider reportedly refused to take responsibility for the defective products. Instead, the damage was allegedly blamed on the plaintiffs and the flooring installer. Consumers were forced to pay for repairing or replacing the defective bamboo flooring, according to the plaintiffs.
Lumber Liquidators has not admitted to any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the claims against them. The settlement includes $14 million in cash, $14 million in-store vouchers and an additional $2 million in vouchers to be provided if a seven percent claim rate is reached.
Eligible consumers can receive a pro rata award from the settlement, although exact amounts will depend on the flooring purchase price.
If consumers are experiencing warping, cupping, buckling, scratching, cracking, delaminating, splintering, deteriorating or gapping with their flooring, they may be eligible for additional payments to cover repair costs. Photographs of damage, contractor’s bids and other documentation may be required for additional payments.
In order to benefit from the settlement, Class Members need to file a valid claim form by July 15, 2020. The deadline for exclusion is March 2, 2020. The deadline for objection is May 21, 2020. The final approval hearing for the Lumber Liquidators settlement is scheduled for Sept. 24, 2020.

Please add me. The floor had buckled in every room so replace with tile
If my wife purchased the flooring but has since passed away, am I eligible?
And, do we include installation cost in the cost of the flooring on the form?
Add me please
I purchase bamboo flooring in the Spring of 2013.
How do they expect to ‘repair’ sections when the entire floor has to be removed to get rid of this faulty shrinking, cracking, splintering floor?
I have buckling in some areas

Please add me. I still have a few boxes not used because of the buckling the others are doing, I’m afraid these will do the same.
