Kashi has agreed to pay close to $4 million to settle a false advertising class action lawsuit that claimed certain food products labeled as “all natural,” “100% natural,” or “nothing artificial” actually contained genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
The proposed Kashi class action settlement would resolve allegations that the food manufacturer mislabeled items in order to persuade customers into buying their products. Approval of the Kashi false advertising class action lawsuit settlement will end a three-year litigation process brought on by a group of consumers who claim they were misled by Kashi’s labeling practice.
Over the years, Kashi attempted to have the false advertising class action lawsuit dismissed three different times but the litigation survived and has resulted in a Kashi GMO mislabeling class action settlement.
Kashi continues to stand by its marketing and denies that the company did anything wrong. However, in addition to providing monetary compensation to Class Members, the company has also agreed to change its labeling practices by removing the “all natural” claims from Kashi products containing the GMO ingredients challenged in the Kashi class action lawsuit.

I received a check for $43.20 in Florida yesterday. My daughter got $.96.
Did the form ask how many boxes we bought? I don’t recall.
Yes, it asked for how many you purchased.
Just curious, anybody else in NJ awaiting a check?
Here’s an update. I received another check from Kashi. Maybe the 96 cents was a left over amount or something similar because this latest check was for 98.50 . I’m also surprised it covers the purchases and the tax on the check I’ll have to pay to the gov’t. I guess I won’t ban Kellogg’s and Kashi from my food purchases now.
settlement administrator enjoyed sending out 96 cents checks using 47 cents postage and laughing at consumers as over 100000 of them forgot to enter tricky box of quantity purchase and they counted as a one box purchase .How low this can be ..Shame sham
Nothing yet in NJ
Received check for 44.08 today in Indiana.
$35.28 in Wisc
$44 today in MO–Thanks TopClassActions
finally got my $0.96 check.now Im rich!!!
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’d like to know why after spending my time gathering up and submitting my valid proof of purchase receipts for about $50, within the time period, and for items on the list, how I ended up with a whole 96 cents. I won’t be buying Kashi or Kellogg’s ever again. Maybe I should post that check on facebook and make fun of it? Too bad there won’t be a next time because I wound withdraw from the settlement, get my own lawyer to turn them into shredded wheat laughing stock. At least the lawyers got their payday of $1.5 Million. And from comments above why do I get the idea that those that actually had proof got less back? If you ask me it’s a nice job on screwing your proven customers….
