UPDATE:
- Top Class Actions viewers began receiving payout checks for $7.72 as part of a second distribution in this settlement in late March 2021.
- Congratulations to everyone who made a claim and got paid!
Direct Digital LLC has agreed to pay $4.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it made false claims on the labels of its Instaflex Joint Support glucosamine sulfate supplements.
If you purchased Instaflex Joint Support supplements, you may be entitled to a cash payment from the class action settlement.
Plaintiff Vince Mullins initially filed the Instaflex class action lawsuit in 2013, alleging Direct Digital included false and misleading claims on its Instaflex Joint Support glucosamine sulfate supplements. Mullins took issue with the use of “scientifically formulated” and “clinically tested” claims on the product labels.
According to the Instaflex Joint Support class action lawsuit, glucosamine has not been shown to help joints. Mullins accused Direct Digital of violating various state consumer protection laws.
Direct Digital denies the allegations and stands by its glucosamine sulfate supplement products. However, it has agreed to settle the Instaflex Joint Support class action lawsuit to avoid the expense, risk and inconvenience of litigation.
In addition to providing cash benefits to Class Members who purchased the glucosamine sulfate supplements, Instaflex has also agreed to modify the labeling of the products named in the class action settlement. Specifically, Direct Digital will stop promoting the glucosamine sulfate supplement as “special, revolutionary or exclusively formulated.”
The Instaflex glucosamine supplement class action settlement was preliminarily approved on March 9, 2017.
Class Members who wish to opt out of or object to the Instaflex glucosamine sulfate settlement must do so no later than July 20, 2017.
Who’s Eligible
Class Members of the glucosamine sulfate settlement include anyone who paid money to obtain Instaflex Joint Support for personal use (including anyone who paid only shipping and handling for an Instaflex sample).
Potential Award
Up to $105 per household.
Class Members are entitled to $15 per bottle of Instaflex Joint Support purchased, up to a maximum of seven bottles. Class Members who did not purchase a bottle of the Instaflex glucosamine sulfate supplement but paid shipping and handling to receive a sample are entitled to a payment of $5.
Payments per bottle may be increased to a maximum of $60 if there is money left over in the Settlement Fund after all claims and other settlement expenses are paid. The extra money will be distributed pro rata to all Class Members who submitted valid claims for purchases.
Proof of Purchase
The settlement documents do not indicate that proof of purchase is required to submit a claim. Please follow the directions on the Claim Form carefully to reduce the risk that your claim will be denied.

Yes, they don’t do all that. Plus in most of the cases they KCC don’t even give e-mails to contact or address changes. It is very frustrating. They all make money because of the consumers and the consumers are the ones who are neglected.
Received a check for $37.60 in NY.
Rec’d $37.50 10/8/19
Received a check for $968.32 in Illinois
Actually, the settlement provides $15/bottle for up to 7 bottles — yeah 105.
But, if you are able to read BOTH the first paragraph AND the second one, you will see that $15 per may be adjusted up to $60 per.
Also, the payments are, of course, per class member, not per family.
Finally, while it does not say so in the settlement, we would like to think the settlement administrator might send a little extra to all the conscientious folks who do not post bigoted lameness online.
Received a check yesterday in IL for $37.60 thanks TCA
