Ford Lawsuit

Claim Forms for the Ford diesel engine class action settlement are now available at the Settlement Administrator website. If you purchased or leased a 2003-2007 Ford vehicle equipped with a 6.0-liter PowerStroke diesel engine, you may be eligible to claim between $50 and $825 from the class action settlement.

The Ford diesel engine settlement resolves dozens of class action lawsuits, consolidated as In re: Navistar 6.0L Diesel Engine Products Liability Litigation, that claim the PowerStroke diesel engines installed in heavy-duty Ford trucks and vans are defective and plagued with problems.

Ford denies the allegations but agreed to reimburse consumers through a class action settlement fund to resolve the litigation.

The settlement covers 2003-2007 non-ambulance Ford vehicles sold or leased in the United States and equipped with a 6.0-liter PowerStroke diesel engine. To be eligible to participate in the class action settlement, your vehicle must have received a repair, replacement, or adjustment during Ford’s 5-year/100,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty to one of the following engine components:

  • Exhaust Gas Recirculation (“EGR”) Cooler
  • Oil Cooler
  • Fuel Injector(s)
  • EGR Valve
  • Turbocharger
Who’s Eligible

Class Members that submit a valid Claim Form will receive one of the following benefits if the class action lawsuit settlement is approved:

Reimbursement for Post-Warranty Repairs to Certain Engine Components. If the Class Vehicle required repair to the EGR cooler, oil cooler, EGR valve, turbocharger, or a fuel injector after the original five-year/100,000-mile warranty expired — but before six years or 135,000 miles (whichever comes first) — Ford will reimburse the Settlement Class Member repair expenses up to the limits specified below, provided the Class Vehicle previously received a repair to that same component that was covered by Ford’s original warranty.

Ford Diesel settlement benefits

Potential Award

Up to $825

Reimbursement of Deductibles. If a Settlement Class Member paid a $100 deductible more than once for repairs under the five-year/100,000-mile engine warranty, Ford will reimburse $50 each for the second through fifth deductible paid, up to a limit of $200 for four deductible payments.

  3. Gary Beck says:

We bought five Ford truck for our company back in 2003. Four 350 with 6.0 Diesel engines and one F650 with Cummions engine. We lost thousands of dollars due to the downtime we had with the trucks for injector replacements and other issues. Ended up having to rent trucks to get our product to market. Heard the same old thing no one else is having a problem. Various issues with the F650.

  5. Joseph Malbrough says:

There’s just really no hope for us that really believed in Ford.

  6. Racen Malone says:

I drove my operable 2005 Ford Freestyle to Montrose Ford so they could repair my axle shaft. In the process of fixing my car, something got stuck in my transmission and destroyed it. They tried to find a used transmission to put in my car at no cost to me but the used ones they located had the same problem. They said that it was a manufacture’s defect and that Ford is responsible for it and that they cannot take responsibility for something that is a defect from the manufacture and that the transmission is non-serviceable. I had to tow the same vehicle I drove to the dealership back to my home at my own cost. I have pictures and receipts. My car is no longer operable and the transmission is destroyed.

  7. STEVEN COOPER says:

looks like a lot of people are simply out of luck without receipts and proper documentation ive spent 1000.00s in repairs just recently got rid of the 6.0 night mare I will never ! own another ford car, truck,or diesel for that matter I dot care if it was Navistar (international)turbos, injectors, fuel pumps, egr valves, coolers head gaskets 100% junk

  9. Joe Carey says:

I’m screwed. Since last October I’ve paid over $6,500 to replace EGR cooler, oil cooler, turbo, and high pressure oil fittings for the injectors. But at just over 6 years old and at 113,000 miles, I fall into the “piss on you” crowd that will get nothing from this. And Ford will never get another dime out of me, or any of my thousands of social media friends once I spread the word. In the end, Ford will loose big time on this fiasco, because they wanted to “keep warranty costs down” but their bottom line sales number will be impacted much more dramatically.

  10. samuel alvey says:

    1. william smith says:
