How to File a Class Action Lawsuit

How Do I Start a Class Action Lawsuit?

If you’ve suffered an injury from a company’s actions (or inactions), you may be eligible to file a class action lawsuit and represent other consumers who have suffered similar harm.

The first step is to find an attorney who is experienced in class action litigation to represent you. Because many defendants in class action lawsuits are large corporations who can afford to pay significant legal fees to defend themselves from litigation, it is important that the attorney you select has the experience and resources needed to bring a strong case.

Does It Cost Me Anything to Start a Class Action?

Most class action attorneys take cases on a contingent fee basis, so you don’t need to pay to participate. Attorneys who work on a contingency basis don’t get paid unless they win the case. After looking into the facts of your class action lawsuit, the attorney will decide whether it is worthwhile to take on.

How Do I Find an Attorney?

When you’re looking for an attorney to represent you in a class action lawsuit, you need to make sure the lawyer is experienced, has a strong record of success and has sufficient resources. Finding an experienced lawyer who is willing to take on your case can be a challenge.

Top Class Actions works with a number of lawyers who have significant experience representing plaintiffs in class action lawsuits. Simply submit your information at our Start a Class Action page to get started. Attorneys in our network will review your case and let you know if you qualify to take legal action. If you qualify, you will be contacted for a free legal consultation.

What Is a Lead Plaintiff?

A lead plaintiff is the person (or group of people) who files the class action lawsuit and is named as plaintiff on the class action complaint. The lead plaintiff serves as the Class representative and therefore must be able to represent the interests of all Class Members.

It is typically necessary for the lead plaintiff to be an active participant after the class action lawsuit is filed. This means appearing for a deposition, hearings, trial, and any other important meetings related to the case. If damages are awarded following a trial or settlement, the lead plaintiff will receive an incentive award for his or her efforts in bringing the case.

I would like to start a class action lawsuit against the Alabama Department of revenue Motor vehicle division and pentagon federal credit union. The department allowed the titling agent to record a lien on my vehicle without supporting documentation per the administrative rule and penfed didn’t send over the security agreement because it wasn’t signed by a representative from the company and I paid on it for months without a contract. The department of revenue may have done this to more residents in Alabama.

I would like to start a class action lawsuit against “Parkers” gas station, one of the biggest companies in Ga as far as gas stations go. I am highly addicted to their Parkers Chewy Ice, in fact it is the only ice I will buy and use. I buy bags at a time.
Recently as im chewing on my parkers chewy ice, I get a painful feeling in my teeth and feel something stuck in between them. I get whatever it is just to find what’s looks to be like hard pieces of silicone plastic or if that nature. I have swallowed this prior to that and felt something stuck in my throat but at that time after coughing consistently it went down so I wasn’t able to see what it was. Something has to be done. There is absolutely no reason why and how unsafe it is shoukd there be pieces of silicone/plastic inside ice that so many people consume.
