Good Evening!
Want to go straight to the open settlements? Enron, Tae Bo and HDTV settlements, OH MY! Click here!
Please forward this to your family and friends. In the average class action settlement less than 5% of the affected class (those who can make their claim) actually do so. So send it out lest they leave money on the judicial table. For shame!
What settlements are new?
We’ve posted some fun settlements, a snoozer settlement and even a few investor’s REVENGE settlements. Mom always said to me:
“Scott, if you take one thing away from growing up in this one room, no bathroom, cabin in the desert…Take this piece of advice, never EVER file fraudulent SEC filings.”
I didn’t know what she meant at the time since I was ten and more interested in Colorado River toads and watching my big brother light model rocket engines (without rockets) but now I understand. Mama knew bad people when she saw them. It’s too bad that the executives at Enron didn’t receive the same sage advice. They could have saved the SEC and investigation and not ruined the many lives of people who invested in the failed corporate giant. The bright side is that Uncle Sam came in and put together a $450 Million dollar fund to get some of that cash back into the investors hands. This isn’t actually a class action settlement, but, it’s close enough for us. If you ever bought any Enron stock make sure to check it out. Anything left in the fund after everyone makes their claim just goes back to Uncle Sam, so why NOT claim what’s rightfully yours? Click here for the Enron Victim Trust Fund details.
AIG executives also didn’t have Mamas like mine. They wouldn’t have gotten themselves in such trouble if they did. Of course since it’s a class action lawsuit settlement they don’t admit guilt. They just pay off the investors to quiet the uproar. This one is MUCH more involved and difficult to fill out compared to the Enron claim though it’s well worth it if you had AIG stock and can make your claim. Head over and check it out.
