Good morning, everyone! I hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving!
We had a great time in the Hardy home with family in from Tucson and, of course, a TON of turkey! I used the holiday as an excuse to buy an electric carving knife. I have to admit, it sure helped when I was carving the bird for the family! As a bit of a knife aficionado, I used to frown upon using an electric carving knife because a super sharp blade should work just fine! What changed my mind was my geeky side. “I get to use a electric powered knife? COOL!” So, I picked one up from Amazon, used it on Thanksgiving Day, and promptly put it away since, like most people, it probably won’t get used until NEXT Turkey Day. I wonder if my family would frown upon me using it on steak nights, LOL!
Here at work, we recently had an attorney reach out to us for help finding objectors to a specific class action settlement. In the past, I wouldn’t work with attorneys representing objectors. They delay payments to the class and are generally looked at with disdain from plaintiff class action attorneys. In this case, we may do it, since I think it could result in a bigger payment for the class as a whole. Usually these settlements can pay out $150+ per claimant, but this settlement isn’t even paying claimants half that amount. We’ll see if it works out! My main concern is that class members get as much $$$ as possible. We’ll keep pushing for that!
