Ghirardelli White Chocolate Class Action Settlement – Ghirardelli Chocolate Company has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it misled consumers into believing some of its products contained white chocolate and that it falsely advertised some of its products as “all natural.” If you purchased certain Ghirardelli products, you could be entitled to compensation from the class action settlement.

 

 Pseudotumor Cerebri May Be Caused By Birth Control PillsPseudotumor cerebri, also called intracranial hypertension, is a serious medical condition that can be caused by birth control pills. Intracranial hypertension occurs when excess cerebrospinal fluid builds up within the skull, putting pressure on the brain. If you were diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri or intracranial hypertension after using birth control, you may have a legal claim.

 

 EA, NCAA Video Game Likeness Class Action SettlementThe NCAA and Electronic Arts Inc. have reached class action settlements over allegations they violated student athletes’ rights by using their names, images and likenesses in EA’s NCAA-branded video games. Bard has reached a $21 million settlement over allegations its transvaginal mesh product caused women to suffer severe and debilitating complications. Bard continues to face more than 12,000 vaginal mesh lawsuits. LCD Price-Fixing Settlement Checks to Be Mailed Next WeekClass Members who filed claims for the LCD price-fixing settlement should finally be receiving checks in the mail, after a federal judge gave authorization for the funds to be distributed. The checks are reportedly being processed and will be mailed very soon.

 

Morcellation Lawsuit Alleges Abdominal TumorsA patient who underwent a robotic hysterectomy is suing a power morcellatormanufacturer, claiming the device spread cancer from a uterine sarcoma throughout her body, causing her to develop seven tumors. She alleges the manufacturer failed to warn patients that powermorcellators can spread dangerous cancers and that she never would have agreed to use the device if she had known about the risk.

 

AmeriGas Agrees to Price-Gouging Class Action Settlement  – AmeriGas has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit that accused the company of price-gouging during one of the worst winters on record. AmeriGas customers who were faced with rising propane bills last winter may be eligible for benefits under the terms of the class action settlement.

 

Infuse Bone Graft System Lawsuit Runs Into Complications  – A federal judge has ruled that a plaintiff cannot bring a claim that Medtronic’s Infuse bone graft is defective because it is preempted by federal oversight. However, Medtronic is still faced with allegations it improperly promoted the device for off-label use, putting patients at risk.

 

Dreamfields Pasta $8M Settlement Receives Final ApprovalA judge has granted final approval to a class action settlement over allegations the makers of Dreamfields pasta made false representations about the pasta’s glycemic index. Class Members who filed claims may soon receive compensation from the Dreamfields class action settlement.

 

Potential Mesothelioma Treatment Found in Blood Pressure DrugMesothelioma is a form of cancer that is generally associated with asbestos exposure. There is currently no known cure for the condition. However, Japanese researchers say a medicine currently used to treat high blood pressure may have the potential to treat malignant pleural mesothelioma. If you or a loved one were exposed to asbestos and diagnosed with mesothelioma, you may be able to take legal action against the companies responsible.

Update from the President of TCA

 

Good morning everyone! I hope your week was fantastic! I spent most of last week at a class action conference meeting with current and future clients. What a great time! It’s amazing the bond you can make by meeting your clients in person. As an Internet business it’s rare for me to meet my clients in person so I make an effort to go out to conferences to build a deep bond you can’t get through email. I ended up closing a few new deals with both existing and brand new clients so the conference definitely paid off! You’ll see some new and updated investigations launching soon. I’m truly lucky to have such great clients that I enjoy spending time with. Great people!

 

On the home front, I got a great welcome back from my girls. There’s nothing like the hugs and kisses from your family when you get home! We’re going to try and maximize the use of the pool this week since it will likely be our last week in the 90s for a long time. It’s a little chilly but the girls don’t mind!
