A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging the prostate health supplement U-Prosta contained prescription medicine, making it an unapproved drug. Consumers who purchased U-Prosta may be entitled to benefits from the U-Prosta class action settlement.
The prostate health supplement was sold under the name “U-Prosta Natural support for prostate health” and was sold in stores, online and through mail order.
The U-Prosta class action lawsuit was filed in 2011 after it was discovered that the prostate health supplement contained terazosin, the active ingredient of a U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved prostrate drug. USA Far Ocean Group Inc., the supplement’s manufacturer, subsequently issued a voluntary nationwide recall of U-Prosta.
The U-Prosta lawsuit alleged causes of action for violation of the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act, false advertising, conversion, misrepresentation and unfair business practices and negligence.
The defendant denies the allegations but agreed to settle the U-Prosta class action lawsuit to avoid the risk and expense of ongoing litigation. The U-Prosta settlement received preliminary approval on Sept. 2.
UPDATE: A federal judge granted final approval to the U-Prosta class action settlement on Feb. 10, 2015. Viewers are reporting to Top Class Actions that they began receiving payments from the settlement during the first week of March. If you received a check, let us know in the comments section below.

Wooow, how do you know the amount is $495? Are you sure the payday is March 15? Were is the date posted?
I don’t live in CA but ordered this product via amazon. Since I don’t live in CA i’m not eligible? That seems a bit ridiculous?
I used to live in California, but am no longer a resident there. Can I still send in a claim form? Or do you still need to be a California citizen?
In jurisprudence, a natural person is a real human being, as opposed to a legal person, which may be a private (i.e., business entity) or public (i.e., government) organization. With that being the case and having purchased the product in California within the time frame stipulated I intend on filing a claim as I now reside in Florida and am no longer a resident of California.
