Electrolux ice maker defect

A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging Electrolux manufactured and sold refrigerators that contain a defective ice maker. If you purchased a Crosley, Electrolux or Frigidaire “French Door” refrigerator-freezer unit with a Gen 1 Ice Maker, you may be entitled to payment from the class action settlement.

The ice maker class action lawsuit accused Frigidaire of acting deceptively in designing, manufacturing, selling and servicing “French Door” refrigerators with a certain type of ice maker. The plaintiffs allege that the Electrolux ice maker is defective.

Electrolux denies any wrongdoing but has agreed to settle the ice maker class action lawsuit to avoid the uncertainty, time and expense of further litigation.

Class Members who wish to opt out of the Electrolux ice maker class action settlement must do so no later than Jan. 4, 2016.

UPDATE: The court granted final approval of this settlement on Feb. 10, 2016. Claims are being processed at this time. Keep checking this article for updates.

  1. Eric S. says:

Purchased fridge in 8/20. Bought an extended warranty. Had the icemaker and fill valve replaced. No go. My tech did some research only to find “this” mess. He even returned the $300 we paid him cuz it was under the extended warranty. How’s that for a tech!! This is the first I’m hearing about these issues. I am anticipating a battle based on what I’m reading. I’m thinking legal letter for starters.
